Harmoniously strong, with slight hints of caramel and chocolate and a subtle malty note.

Bottle. Pours nearly clear copper brown with stable beige head. Clear aroma of malt and fruit, with notes of yeast and caramel. Bitter, hoppy and slightly roasty flavour with sweetish notes of yeast and caramel malt and mild acidic touches. Bitterish aftertaste with acidic notes. Reasonable.

Bottle into a Steinkrug. Hazy brown color with creamy beige head. Aroma is roasted, nutty, cocoa, bready, caramel, unfortunately also a touch metallic. Taste is bready, chocolate, nutty, earthy, burnt breadcrust with a solid grassy hop counterpoint. Smooth creamy mouthfeel with natural, but lively carbonation. What a pleasant, unexpected surprise from a brewery of which I am usually not a fan.

500ml bottle (5.5% ABV, from Beers of Europe): BBD 8th Aug 18, poured three times into my old 0.2 litre König Pilsener glass at home on 14th Feb 18. Hazy dark brown body, ruby hue to the edges in a strong light, on top a deep lightly tanned head on each pour. Malts rule the nose and taste, mild herbal and spice twist to both the aroma and flavour. Semi-sweet throughout really, nice wintery feel to the brew, liked it.

Many thanks to Martin for this bottle! Smooth malty beginning. Mild and sessionable with hints of yeast. Round and fruity, smooth mild yeast, hints of grain. Easy to drink, round and malty with grainy hints, quite dry, nice!

0.5 l bottle from 'TOP Getr�nke' (Letmathe), best before July 2018. Minimally hazy, dark brownish amber with a medium large, dense, stable, light beige head. Sweetish-malty, slightly grassy-spicy aroma of caramel, nuts and some straw. Moderately sweet, slightly bitter, malty and slightly grassy-spicy taste of caramel, toasted nuts, some straw and traces of chocolate, followed by a short, moderately bitter, slightly grassy-spicy and a bit dry finish. Medium body, smooth and moderately effervescent mouthfeel, average to lively carbonation. Very pleasant beer, fantastically balanced and therefore extremely quaffable.

(draught at HB-Keller & bottle at home) Hazy, brown colour with a beige and firm mid-sized foamy head. Toasty malty aroma with notes of bread, caramel, a whiff of chocolate and hints of grassy hops in the background. Mildly sweet and slightly bitter flavour, light to medium bodied with a well-carbonated mouthfeel. Moderately toasted bready malty taste with notes of caramel and a rounded grassy and slightly herbal hoppy touch, lingering into the mildly toast-malty finish. Not overwhelming but likeable. 22.II.14 & 25.X.17
