Aromas and flavors are basic world budget lager- pale malt, adjunct and a touch of hops. Flavors are also leaning sweet but with enough bitter and carbonation to balance. A little bit of buzz on the back of the tongue from the carbonation after a larger sip. Great beer to have in a neighborhood tavern with a shot of something like Beam.

12 ounce can into lager glass, best before 10/14/2019. Pours crystal clear pale golden yellow color with a 1 finger fairly dense and fluffy white head with solid retention, that reduces to a thin spotty lace cap that lingers. Light spotty lacing clings on the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation. Good appearance. Aromas of cracker, corn, white bread dough, and lightly toasted biscuit; with lighter notes of wood, peppercorn, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness. A bit too fruity corn aromas, but not overwhelming. Nice and pleasant aromas with good balance of pale malt/grains and light-moderate earthy hop notes; with solid strength. Taste of cracker, corn, white bread dough, and lightly toasted biscuit; with lighter notes of wood, peppercorn, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness. Light herbal, floral, woody, grassy, peppery bitterness on the finish. Lingering notes of cracker, corn, white bread dough, lightly toasted biscuit, wood, peppercorn, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Great robustness and balance of pale malt/grains and light-moderate earthy hop flavors; with a great malt/bitterness balance, and no cloying/astringent flavors after the finish. Fairly crisp/clean finishing. Very clean on lager flavors, with minimal fruity/yeasty notes. Light-moderate increasing dryness from lingering bitterness and carbonation. Medium-plus carbonation and light-medium body; with a very smooth, moderately bready/grainy, and fairly sticky mouthfeel that is great. Zero warming alcohol as expected of 4.9%. Overall this is a delicious pale adjunct lager. All around nice robustness and balance of pale malt/grains and light-moderate earthy hop flavors; very smooth, crisp, clean, and refreshing to drink with the mildly bitter/drying finish. Very flavorful and not watery for the ABV. Great clean pils malt/grain showcase, with solid earthy hop presence/balance for the style. Not overdone on adjuncts. Minimal residual sweetness with crisp dryness. A very enjoyable offering, and outstanding style example. One of the better AAL I've had, as expected of Pabst.

Bottle at the Old Fashioned. Pours a clear pale yellow with a white head that dissipates quickly to the edges. Aroma has lots of straw and hay with some bread and earthy corn backing. Flavor has straw and grains with earthy corn and bread backing.

Can (trade with Patrickctenchi for an Against the Grain Bo & Luke). Corn syrup and sour barley malt aroma. Golden yellow with giant, fluffy head. Sweet corn syrup, hay, and barley malt flavor. Okay for a pale lager - just a bit too sweet.

Clear, light gold with a giant, white cloud of a head. Light, sweet corn malt aroma. Typical, old school American blue-collar beer taste. Dad used to drink this....40 odd years ago...This and Stroh’s were my first stolen sips as a young lad....When I saw it, I HAD to get it....and I’m glad I did. Absolutely nothing wrong with it for what it is. Definitely worth $3.99 a sixer.

I have good memories of drinking this from my grandfather’s glass. It had a beautiful gold color and lots of bubbles, forming a thick, tall white head. It no longer has this impressive appearance, but the flavor is what I remember. It has some corn with a dry maltiness. Served cold, it isn’t bad at all. Much lower carbonation than I remember, and no thick, tall, head. Actually it tastes better straight from the can.

Enjoyed on tap at Frank’s Power Plant in Milwaukee, WI, where my band played a show. For my 5th beer of the night, this one was perfect as it was pretty light. One of those \"I’m about to have too many so I’ll get this instead\" beers. Appearance fizzy yellow beer with white head. Aroma not really much there, generic lager smell. Taste is actually smooth for a mass produced lager, not much other than hay/straw. Not bad though....had this again at the Beat Kitchen in Chicago, IL while watching 7000 Dying Rats (the band). This tasted like a mixture between stale and moldy bread, and water. Man was it bad. I guess on tap is the way to go!
