Bottle @ home, shared with LeninCat. Thanks to Adam for sending. Pours a deep ruby orange appearance with a thin tan head. Burnt sugar / caramel, dark fruits / raisin / plum in the aroma. Full bodied, thick molasses feel. Syrupy / gooey caramel / toffee flavor. High sweetness. Low to moderate bitterness. Some cookie like notes along with a bit of spicy hops. Finishes pretty smoothly. Not super impressive but not bad. LeninCat ticks this 3/5.

Draft at the Berghoff. So how is 6% considered a strong ale? Anyway, Dark malt color with a thin head. Smell is malty and a little sweet, like molasses cookie dough. Nice thick mouthfeel from those sweet malts. Tends toward a doppelbock in character. A bit of plum. Malts are just toasty in spite of the darker color. A mostly German hop character. Filling and warming without extra alcohol. Slightly fruity ale finish with some graininess.

Nearly clear, amber/brown with a thick, off-white head. Malt, caramel aroma. Taste is sweet, bready caramel. Woody. Rather bland and stale.

Bottle. Barley malt and hay aroma. Amber with moderate head. Sweet barley malt and mildly bitter herbal hops flavor. Drinkable.
