Hot. Drenched. Delightfully blinding. Right. We're not talking about that ball of fire in the sky, but our refreshing hefeweizen. Skip the shade and down a glass or two and be cool.

12 ounce bottle into weizen glass, no bottle dating. Pours hazy orange amber color with a nice 3 finger dense and fluffy cream colored head with incredible retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lasts. Spotty foamy lacing clings down the glass, with moderate streaming carbonation. Aromas of big lemon, pear, orange peel, banana, clove, bubblegum, wheat, floral, pepper, grass, and yeast earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of malt and yeast ester notes; with good strength. Taste of lemon, pear, orange peel, banana, clove, bubblegum, wheat, pepper, floral, grass, and yeast earthiness. Lingering notes of citrus, banana, pear, clove, bubblegum, wheat, pepper, floral, and yeast earthiness on the finish fore a good bit. Damn nice balance and complexity of malt and yeast ester flavors; with a great fruity/spicy ester balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Medium-high carbonation and medium bodied; with a creamy and moderately crisp mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is very well hidden with no warming noticed after the finish. Overall this is a really excellent hefeweizen! All around nice balance and complexity of malt and yeast ester flavors; and very smooth and crisp to drink. Really enjoyed this one; this is one of the better American made Hefeweizens I have had.

Bottle pour to pint. Hazy medium gold. Banana dominant on nose and initial tastes. Smooth, medium body; refreshing.

12 oz bottle. Pours an orange-tinged golden with a lot of protein globs (eventually obscured by haziness) and a white head. Clove and bubble gum yeast aromas, a bit of citrus, and kind of a toasty malt/toasty popcorn thing going on. Flavor shows a nice balance of toasty wheat biscuit and yeasty bubble gum. Hops come through in citrus, and some spiciness in there. A nice one.

Tap at the Brentwood Tavern, New Buffalo - 03/11/12. Cloudy orange in appearance with a decent head. Nose of banana, toffee and clove. Tastes of banoffee pie, little spice, toffee and a touch of peach. Medium bodied with light spritzy carbonation. One of the better US brewed German representations I’ve had.

On tap at Bangers and Lace. Pours a cloudy orange gold with a white head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma has a good amount of earthy wheat with a bit of grapefruit and earthy citrus. Flavor has a bit more sweet citrus upfront with earthy grapefruit and wheat in the finish.
