Sample at the HSC July 4th beer tasting. Hazy golden color with a medium fizzy white head that burns away steadily. Spotty lacing on the glass. Aroma of hops and grainy malt. Medium to full body with flavors of herbal hops, biscuit malt and fruit. The finish is moderately bitter with a peppery hops aftertaste. Decent overall.

Draft. Orange, hay, and light caramel malt aroma. Golden yellow with small head. Sweet orange caramel malt and moderately bitter herbal lemon peel flavor. Very nice and drinkable.

Bottle. Slight gusher.. had to wait a while before I could drink it. Sweet bready/grainy malt, light fruit, and hay aroma. Hazy golden straw with a ginormous white head. Spicy grassy hops, light citrus, and sweet bready malt flavor. Medium body and very lively carbonation.

Deep golden body with a fizzy, off-white head, slowly diminishing. Aroma of sweet grains, alcohol, grass, pineapple, biscuit. The flavor is moderately sweet and lightly bitter. It finishes moderately sweet and lightly to moderately bitter. Medium body, velvety texture, soft carbonation. The sweetness is not unexpected from an imperial pils, but is excessive without many redeeming qualities. Hot alcohol in the finish, a peppery taste that lingers into the finish. Average. A 10% beer, to make it worth drinking, should have more going for it.

bottle at Fort Wayne tasting - Pours hazy yellow with a tinge of orange and a small white head. It has a malty, fruity aroma. The flavor is moderately bitter and well balanced with bready malt. There is some alcohol presence but I didn’t mind it. Quite good.

Beer #19 at GTMW ’09. Actually cloudy despite pilsener color. White pils head, though. Smell is nice, though alcohol does come in stronger than pils fragrance. Taste is mostly alcohol, but some pilsener hops do come through the center of my sample glass.

Pour is a golden with a white head. Aroma is a nice biscuit with a hoppy backbone. Flavor is again lots of dry malts and a nice hoppy aftertaste. Very easy to drink and the alcohol is no problem. Think of pilsner urqueli but to the extreme!
