When Fall rolls around, so does Jack. Provided he stays away from marauding trick-or-treaters, this bright orange gourd-like squash from the genus curcubita (Thanks Wikipedia!) finds his way into the mash of this Flat12 seasonal pale ale. A special blend of Indian(a) spices and pumpkin shine through just enough to complement this slightly sweet and malty tribute to the season of hayrides and bonfires. Flat out fantastic.

On tap at the brewery. Pours a hazy gold with medium white head leaving spotty lacing. The aroma is strong spice and pumpkin. Thin body, cinnamon, nutmeg, light finish, ok.

12 oz. bottle part of my Fall trade with queenholly. Clear yellow pour with lasting fizzy white bottles, well carbonated. Nose is ginger, roasted pumpkin seeds and some odd spice that isnโ€™t the normal. Flavor is ginger, pale malt and lightly bitter floral hop flavor. Secondary flavor of dried leaves. Hard to find the pumpkin in this bottle. Light body with a spritzy carbonation. Itโ€™s more like an spiced Golden ale or maybe a spiced lager. Really not what I was expecting but not in a bad way. Different take on the fall seasonal.

Bottle: Pours clear, orange/brass/gold with a minimal soapy head. Nose is pumpkin, nutmeg. Taste is slightly metallic, pumpkin filling. Herbal hop bittering, pumpkin rind. Very natural.

12 ounce bottle courtesy of queenholly. I was in Indianapolis last year and didnโ€™t get a chance to get by Flat 12, so Iโ€™m glad to try this. Pours a slightly hazy copper color with a huge foamy off-white head. It seemed like it was on the verge of being a gusher. Nice aroma, sweet and toasted pumpkin notes with pumpkin spice, pumpkin seed and a faint touch of bitterness. The taste is big pumpkin spice, some toasted notes and a spicy finish. Medium bodied, lingering spice and very high carbonation. Overcarbonated, but still nice.

Bottle. Golden body with a frothy white head, slowly diminishing. Aroma of all spice, cinnamon, pumpkin. The flavor is moderately sweet and lightly bitter. It finishes lightly to moderately sweet and lightly to moderately bitter. Medium body, watery texture, lively carbonation. Plenty of pumpkin spicing in the taste, especially nutmeg, all spice and cinnamon. Would have enjoyed more with the body dialed up and the spice dialed down. One was enough.

Bottle. Roasted pumpkin malt and spice aroma. Hazy gold with a huge off-white head, highly active carbonation. It took forever for the head to diminish enough that I could drink the beer. Spiced pumpkin flavor, and light bitter hops finish. Average pumpkin ale that leans a little to the hoppy side.

tap at Ft Wayne OktoBeerfest - Pours slightly hazy yellow-gold with a lingering white head. It has a spicy aroma and a spicy pumpkin flavor. This beer is medium bodied and has moderate hops bitterness. Overall itโ€™s alright.
