Pale to Medium in both color and body. A crisp delicately balanced beer with subtle fruit flavors and aromas. A wonderful introduction to micro-brewed beer

16oz can. Poured a clear yellow color with a small white, fizzy head. Aroma was crisp lager notes, some floral hops, light malts. Flavor was clean, crisp. Pretty tasty compared to many of the reviews.

Bottle. Light sour malt aroma with a hint of rubber. Golden yellow with large white head. Light sweet-tart lemon and barley malt flavor. Light hint of plastic in the finish. Some issues with chlorophenols - otherwise a nice beer.

22 ounce bottle from Beer Run in Charlottesville, VA. The earlier ratings are atrocious so hopefully this new revived version is much better. Pours a clear goldn color with a large head. Good head retention and lacing. Aroma of pale malts and perfumey, floral hops. The taste is grainy malts, some corny notes and caramel with some grassy hops and an odd note in the finish. Medium bodied. More of an amber lager than a kolsch but still decent. 6/7/10

Supposedly retired, bottles and draft have been appearing everywhere in my area. Perhaps the beer has been revived. Draft: Clear amber, no head. Ever so slight DMS and otherwise non-aromatic. Hay, cereal grain flavor with a touch of vanilla. Tinny at midpalate. Pleasantly bitter on the palate, good mouthfeel. Not a bad beer and much better than I remember when I had it pre-RB years ago.

Courtesy of City Beverage in Winston-Salem. Unfortunately the beer is nowhere near as nice as the location. Pours a clear dark reddish-orange color with a thin off-white head. Very thin lacing. The aroma consists of some hops and spice. The body is a little on the thin side, and there is a fair amount of hops in the flavor, but very little else. Slight but lasting hoppiness in the finish. I would probably get this again if I were vacationing in the Outer Banks but not otherwise.

A lot of what I have to say about this echos MEI, so I'll just add that I figure this has the malt profile of a dortmunder, except that there is a lot of pungent sulphur character and too many English hops in the finish for that style.
