Wheat beer’s history goes back to the Pharaohs of Egypt. By the 16th century it was popular in Germany where it is usually served quite cold, and with a slice of lemon.
American Wheat Beer, which can be traced to the colonial brewer’s need to stretch scarce European imported malt with adjuncts like wheat, has a less fruity, more balanced taste and finish than its German relative, the result of American hops and yeast.

Bottle. Very disappointed in this one. More like a Wheat Pale Ale than a Regular Wheat Ale. Had way too much hops for a "German" style Wheat Ale.

Sampled from a 12 o brown bottle this beer poured a hazy apricot color with a huge foamy orange-white head that lingered forever and left good lacing. The aroma was spritzy and crisp orange, lemon, cracker and clove. The flavor was dust wheat, bread, lemon and perfume. Medium length finish that turns dry. Medium body. Ok.

Refrigerated 12 oz. brown bottle, April 15, 2014 bottled on date, poured into a weizen glass. Pours deep golden with medium white head. Aroma is light herbal hops, medium body, medium carbonation, and pretty good big bubble lacing. Taste is herbal hops, a little citrus, with a bitter finish. Just above average for the style for me.

Bottle. Light orange/lemon and wheat malt aroma. Hazy golden yellow with small head. Mildly sweet orange malt and lightly bitter citrus peel flavor. Very nice beer.

12oz bottle. Some chill haze maybe..golden-yellow straw color, thin, steady head. Smooth, medium body. Clean, watery malt body. Some clove wheat bite up front, bud fades into a smooth finish. Intensely sessionable, A little more lively and biting than some of it’s stylistic contemporaries, but still downright mellow. Some honey malt tones. Refreshing, a challenging style.

Overall Impression: No notes to speak of from a rating that is about 2 years old (I'm thinking I got it at Total Wine in Richmond)...I'll insert the score though, and should I drink this beer again I'll be sure to update.

Bottle from somewhere. Pours a hazy orange with a three finger very persistent head. Aroma of banana creme pie. Can’t taste much other than infection. Butters and I must have gotten the same batch! I’ll pick up another next time I see it.

12oz bottle-pours a dissipating white head and hazy yellow color. Aroma is wheat, some sweet and citrus. Taste is wheat-sweet, citrus, sour/tart, yeast, secondary bitter hops.

Not a very good weizen but a good American wheat. Not sure what is colonial about it. It does appear unfiltered at least. Sweet flavor with wheat and sugar. No citrus or coriander or other spices that I would like in the style. Refreshing at least, and the palate is ok.

Bottle. Pours a hazy golden color. Medium white head. Didn’t really get too much of a wheat beer taste from this wheat beer, more like a typical ale to be honest. Plain and slightly yeasty.
