I got this bottle in a trade with zapata. Thanks Ben!
This pours a clear red brown with a 1finger head of foam. Some lacing here and the foam is not shrinking very fast at all. 1 lovely brew in my glass.. The colour, I think, is spot on for a Dunkel.
The smell has notes of roasted malt, some sweet malt, and some good hoppiness that smells very fruitlike.
The taste is very nice. Some nice sweet malt notes with a touch of roasted malt, some light nutty flavour, and a decent amount of hop bitterness in the background to take the edge off the sweetness and put this in a very nice balance. Yum. There's also a touch of earthiness right before the finish which itself is slightly sweet. Again. Yum, and a very nice brew to sit with and session with.
Imo, this is a great example of the style, a style that I don't have a lot of experience with but the ones I have tried generally are too light in the flavour department. Not so with this one. Highly recommended!

This brew is a dark brownish-amber color with a medium light beige head that recedes steadily to an outer ring. Short strings of lacing. Aroma of roast malt, caramel and dark fruit. Light-bodied with a sweet caramel malt character, with a bit of fruit and floral hops in the background. The finish is sweet with a malty aftertaste. Slightly above average overall.

Bottle. Nutty chocolate malt aroma. Dark chestnut brown with moderate tan head. Slightly sweet chocolate malt flavor with a lightly bitter herbal hops finish. Nice body. An excellent dunkel.

Bottle. Black bread and chocolate malt and prune aroma. Chestnut with a small, quickly dissipating tan head. Dark bread, sweet chocolate malt, and prune flavor. Smooth medium body. I really loved the chewy dark bread flavor going on in this one, and found it going down far too easily. This is one I could drink a little too much of if I wasn’t careful.

Bottle. Beer of the month club. Clear brown with only a tiny bit of beige foam. Nice malty caramelly aroma with nuts and notes of toast and chocolate. Sweet caramelly malt flavor with some toastiness and a slightly drier finish with a bit of roastiness and light herbal hints. Medium-bodied. Not bad.

Bottle. Comfortably sweet and easy to drink. Dark copper body with an off-white, mostly diminishing head. Aroma of toast and brown sugar with notes of caramel and dough. The flavor is moderately sweet and lightly bitter with a lightly to moderately bitter finish. It stays sweet throughout. Thin to medium body with a watery texture. Lively carbonation. Crisp.

Tap at barcade - holy crap this was bad - smelled like brown sugar and roasted malts - but the flavor was was a mix of caramelized sugar and diacetyl, reminding me of burnt cracker jacks - an "I’m infected" acidity creeps up in the finish, too, adding to the crappiness - I ordered a full pint of this, but could only drink a few sips.
