Our Rye IPA is a very crisp and refreshing ale brewed with a very simple malt bill. 2-row, flaked rye (20 %) and Carared malt yields a clear golden ale with a malty mouth feel and subtle toasty/nutty undertones [ contributed by the flaked rye ]. We used El Dorado hops for its lingering bitter finish, along with Chinook and Amarillo in the brew kettle to kick up the pine/ citrus aroma we like. To mix it up a bit we dry hopped this IPA with both Amarillo and English Fuggle hops to create a unique fruity, yet spicy hop aroma in the finished product. Very drinkable for a beer with a rather substantial ABV%- for when you’ve got nothing better to do than watch TV and have a couple brews.

Bottle thanks to Bruce. Pours a clear orange with small white head that lasts. The aroma is floral hop and pine. Medium mouth with strong rye, nice hop bite, lingering dry bitterness, very good.

22 ounce bottle into tulip glass, bottled on 1/23/2014. Pours fairly crystal clear deep gold color with a 2 finger dense off white head with good retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Spotty soapy lacing clings around the glass. Aromas of big grapefruit, tangerine, pineapple, lemon zest, orange peel, floral, grass, pine, light toast, spicy rye and floral/grassy earthiness. Very nice aromas with bright citrus/grassy hops with moderate toast/rye malt presence; with good strength. Taste of big grapefruit, tangerine, pineapple, lemon zest, orange peel, floral, grass, pine, light toast, spicy rye, and floral/grassy earthiness. Good amount of grassy/pine bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of grapefruit, tangerine, pineapple, lemon zest, orange peel, pine, light toast, spicy rye, and floral/grassy earthiness on the finish for a while. Very nice complexity and balance of juicy citrus/grassy hops and light-moderate toast/rye malt sweetness; with a great malt/bitterness balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Medium carbonation and body; with a smooth, crisp, and lightly sticky mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is well hidden with only a slight warming present after the finish. Overall this is a very nice rye IPA. All around good complexity and balance of juicy citrus/grassy hops with light-moderate toast/rye malt balance; and very smooth and crisp to drink for the ABV. A very enjoyable offering.

Refrigerated brown bomber, free beer won during free beer week from tooch4321, poured into a snifter. Pours nice clear deep golden (light orange) with very small white head, and little lacing. Medium body, low carbonation, and slightly syrupy texture. Taste is floral, spicy hop, some rye, and finish is grapefruit.

On tap at the brewpub. Poured a clear gold with a white head that dissipated slowly to the edges and laced slightly. Aroma was full of citrus with a hint of slight pine and a bit of backing rye and dark bread. Flavor began with citrus that was joined by a growing pine note with a hint of rye. Beer was nice and smooth.
