Stegmaier Amber Lager is a spin off of the classic Vienna Lager. This product is brewed with a combination of high quality domestic two-row barley and accentuating domestic specialty malts. True to style, the lager is bittered, hopped and fermented with our in-house lager yeast. This brew is then aged to heighten its toasty malt flavors. Stegmaier Amber Lager is a medium body product that proudly presents itself with a rich amber color and off-white, glass-clinging head.

From old notes - Pours light amber and clear with a small off-white head. It tastes of sweet malt, grain and caramel. Bland. Underwhelming.

Bottle. Sweet toffee malt and grass aroma. Dark amber color with small head. Sweet toffee malt and lightly bitter grassy hops flavor. Okay - a bit past its prime.

Only slightly aromatic with malt on the nose. Clear amber, thin head. Copper flavor with definite vanilla hints. Underrated, decent brew.

12 ounce bottle. Pours a clear orange copper color with a thin white head. Fair head retention and lacing. Aroma is caramel, light toastiness and light nuttiness. Taste is metallic malts with a bit of tart apple like fruit notes and a bit of caramel and rye bread. Thin-medium bodied, weak carbonation.

Bottle. Pours a brownish gold with a thin foam head and aromas of metal and grain. Flavor has a bit of an herbal zing to add to the aroma mix but isn’t very compelling. Has an apple juice malt presence, a bit of metal and some herbal junk.

Fairly clean aroma, a little slaggy and sweet on the olfactory. Color is off pale with some brown or orange in there. Thin scum on top of beer. Initial flavor is more hoppy than expected. Decent carbonation. Fairly bitter, yet still quite acceptable on the finish. No real ill character.
