A Schwarzbier (pronounced shvahrts-beer) which is simply German for black beer. Light to medium bodied lager brewed with German Pilsner malt and black wheat. Although very dark in color, this beer gets a good portion of its bitterness from the German noble hop Hallertau Mittlefruh and Spalter Select, whereas other dark beers such as porters and stouts gather bitterness from larger proportions of roasted malt. This schwarzbier is a refreshing alternative to heavy dark ales usually served in the winter. 12.5°

Draft @ Novare Res. Perfect looking black color with lasting white head retention. Nose is dark roasted grain, spent coffee bean and chocolate. Flavor is a perfect representation of the style. A bit of smoke in the flavor along with the what’s in the aroma. Medium body with a light charred / ash texture.
The finish has a long lingering roast and smoke character. This is well worth a try and I killed my pint much to quickly. Solid

Tap. Molasses malt and herbal hops aroma. Black color with moderate head. Lightly smoky chocolate malt flavor. Medium body with light lactic finish. Light but tasty.
