Bottle: Pours hazy brown with a short, beige head. Nutty, caramel malt aroma. Toast, caramel, a little tang of fruit in the flavor. A decent, comfy brown ale.

16 ounce bottle into imperial pint glass, bottled on 1/10/2012. Pours slightly cloudy reddish copper color with a 2 finger dense cream colored head with good retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Spotty soapy lacing clings down the glass. Aromas of caramel, chocolate, biscuit, toast, brown sugar, light roast, floral, herbal, light raisin, and toasted earthiness. Very nice aromas with good balance of dark/toasted malt notes and light hops; with good strength. Taste of caramel, chocolate, biscuit, toast, brown sugar, light roast, floral, herbal, light raisin, and toasted earthiness. Light earthy floral bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of caramel, chocolate, biscuit, toast, brown sugar, floral, herbal, light raisin, and toasted earthiness on the finish for a short bit. Good balance of malt and hop notes; with decent robustness and no cloying flavors after the finish. Medium carbonation and light-medium bodied; with a smooth and crisp mouthfeel that is good. Alcohol is very well hidden with zero warming present after the finish as expected of 4.8%. Overall this is a nice session brown ale. Fair amount of flavor and good balance; and very smooth and crisp to drink. A nicely enjoyable offering.

Clear medium brown pour with a fleeting off-white head. Light malt aroma. The flavor is well balanced but quite subdued. Not much sweetness, no real hop flavor or bitterness. Session type brown ale.

Got this at merchant st bistro; big thanks to brad, the dude. $2.50 for a bottle as pictured. Pour is nice iced tea lookin thing with a head composed of rather large bubbles. Smell is clean and english. Taste is not bad. Smooth almost creamy thing happening here. Yes, gets a tad soapy in the middle. Does some smearing co2 in there. Wants to get clying but aint.

16 ounce bottle from Asheville Wine Market. Pours a clear brownish amber with a thin tan head that exits post haste. Aroma of brown malts, nuts, caramel. The taste is brown malts, faint chocolate, toasted malts and a bitter hop finish. Medium bodied.

Bottle. Raisin, nuts, and toffee malt aroma. Medium brown color with small head. Sweet nutty toffee malt flavor with a light bitter finish.

16 oz bottle from Sandy’s Liquors. Nose of caramel and toastiness. Clear cherry brown with a medium beige head. Flavor is caramel, toasted wheat, and light background bitterness.

500ml bottle. Translucent amber-brown color, minimal patchy head. Odd sweet caramel aroma. The taste comes off a little adjuncty, with some amber malt and a syrupy sweetness. Minimal sublime hops help you get this one down. Quite a poor example of a Brown Ale, even for Sprecher.

Pour is a amber with a small tan head. Aroma is of malts and some dark fruit. Flavor is again some malts but very watery. Easy to drink as there is nothing redeming about this. Its a frikking brown ale what was i expecting?

Bottle. Darkish roasted carmel malt aroma. Hazy ruby brown color with a low beige head. Medium body with creamy carbonation. The flavor is roasted malt with an odd fruity/floral/herb aspect. It’s a bit sweet, and there’s not enough bitter to balance it. I’ve been through Yorkshire, and I don’t think this is it, but it’s a pretty good drink.
