On tap. Pours a near clear amber brown with visible catbonation ant a brown head that lasts throughout the beer and laces nicely. Aroma has sweet grains that are backed by dark bread and a slight hint of roasted malts. Flavor has lots of bread and a big of sweetness with a mellow finish.

Reviewed from notes.
The appearance was a dark brown color with a one finger of off white foaminess that bled to a light lacing.
The smell had some cinnamon, breadiness, light raisin backed up by some light caramel malts.
The taste was mainly sweet through the previously mentioned flavors.
On the palate, this one sat right at a medium on the body with a fairly decent sessionability about it. The carbonation was pretty subdued and good to me.
Overall, I say this was a pretty good Munich Dunkel to have again.

12 ounce bottle into lager glass, bottled on 2/5/2014. Pours lightly hazy/cloudy reddish brown color with a 1 finger dense light khaki head with good retention, that reduces to a thin cap that lingers. Light spotty lacing clings on the glass. Aromas of caramel, toast, biscuit, brown bread, light roast, herbal, and yeast earthiness. Nice and pleasant aromas with good balance of dark/bready malt and moderate hop/yeast ester notes; with solid strength. Taste of caramel, toast, biscuit, brown bread, light roast, herbal, light pepper, and yeast earthiness. Minimal earthy bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of caramel, toast, biscuit, brown bread, herbal, and yeast earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Nice balance and robustness of dark/bready malt and light-moderate earthy hop flavors; with zero cloying flavors after the finish. Medium carbonation and body; with a smooth, crisp, and lightly bready mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is well hidden with minimal warming present after the finish. Overall this is a nice dunkel lager style. Well balanced dark/bready malt and light-moderate earthy hop flavors with good robustness; and very smooth and crisp to drink. A nicely enjoyable offering.Earlier Rating: 11/17/2012 Total Score: 3.712 ounce bottle into pilsener glass, bottled on 9/16/2011. Pours fairly crystal clear red amber color with a 1 finger dense off white head with good retention, that reduces to a thin cap that lingers. Light spotty soapy lacing clings down the glass. Aromas of pear, apricot, caramel, toast, molasses, light chocolate, toffee, dark bread, and light herbal. Nice and pleasant aromas with decent strength and balance; a bit too fruity, probably because of age. Taste of pear, caramel, butterscotch, toffee, toast, molasses, light chocolate, dark bread, and light herbal. Lingering notes of light fruit, caramel, toffee, butterscotch, toast, light chocolate, molasses, and herbal on the finish for a short bit. Solid balance of flavors with a fair amount of robustness; zero cloying sweetness on the finish. Medium carbonation and body; with a lightly slick and smooth mouthfeel that is good. Alcohol is very well hidden with almost no warming noticed after the finish. Overall this is a nice dunkel. A nice amount of flavors with good balance; very smooth to drink. A quite enjoyable dunkel offering.

Pours a clear dark copper-brown color with a medium dense off-white head that dissipates slowly. Strings of lacing on the glass. Aroma of bready malt and hops. Light body with flavors of toasted malt, grain and grassy hops. The finish is short with a caramel malt aftertaste. Just average overall.

bottle - Pours clear red with a small head. It has a very mild caramel/toffee malt aroma. The flavor is sweet caramel and bready malt a not much else. Pretty bland.

Bottle in Detroit. Clear, copper appearance with an ivory head. Toasty, burnt bacon, mild smoky, toffee, caramel aroma. Kind of weird aroma. Summer sausage, mildly smoky, caramel flavor. Drinkable but weird.

12 oz bottle. Pours a hazy copper color with a small off-white head. Toasty and toffee aroma with some spice, with a strong mineral aroma coming on as well. Flavor is quite earthy, with iron, spiciness, toastiness, and toffee. Fairly nice.
