Our friend, Marcus from Weathered Souls Brewing in San Antonio, TX messaged us and said he was visiting his family in Sacramento. Naturally we knew we had to brew a collaboration and gave ourselves the task of coming up with a new idea. Not wanting to use the same usual ingredients Marcus suggested we make an Imperial Stout w/ Chai. We thought that sounded interesting so we gave it a shot. Chai Times is an 11.3% Imperial Milk Stout consisting of Lactose, Chai and Ugandan Vanilla Beans. We sourced the Chai blend of tea from Magic Hour Tea out of Ojai, CA. Immediately on the smell the chai spice is abundant but when taking a sip the tea blend is matched by the sweetness of the milk stout.

Draft at Mikkeller & Friends, Copenhagen, Moksa TTO, 04/05/2023 Dark and sweet malty aroma and taste, lots of prominent spice, some vanilla accents, coffee and cocoa, brown sugar, full body, dark malty heavily spiced finish.

Draft, taster @Mikkeller & Friends, Copenhagen (Denmark). 04/05/2023 [#6.176 Global - #983 United States of America - #25 Moksa Brewing Company] Pours muddy brown with almost no head. Aroma: spiced malts, some tea leaves and hazelnuts. Very spiced cinnamon mouthfeel. Not my cup of chai. Next one please!

A murky thick very dark brown beer. Aroma of intense chai spices, dark malt, chocolate. Taste of chai spices, cinnamon, anis, strong dark malt.

Appearance: Black colour with a small beige head.

On tap at Mikkeller & Friends, pours an opaque diarrhea brown, no head. Aroma is full of chocolate and chai tea, with plenty of spices and cocoa. Flavour is intense, with loads of chai tea, cardamom, cocoa and alcohol. Spicy, chai-like, chocolatey finish. Very good despite how shitty (pun-intended) it looks.

Tap. Murky brown color with no head. Aroma is chai spice, cloves, christmas, no vanilla. Taste is chai spice af, overdone, but it has its merits... Dusty mouthfeel, soft carbonation. A bit too much.

Tap @ Mikkeller, Stefansgade. Black with a light brown head. Aroma is sweet, roasted malt, chocolate and heavy cinnamon. Flavor is very sweet and moderate bitter. Dry and moderate bitter finish with warming alcohol. 040523
