Flaska från Etre Gourmete drucken med ölföreningen. Å en sidan riktigt tvålig och sötestrig och andra sidan snustorr och träigt tvärbesk. Tycker att det blir viss balans och funkar. Men kanske inte blir jättegott.

750ml Bottle - Copper with a slight haze and a foamy head. Berries, caramel, hay and citrus in the aroma. Pepper, caramel, fudge, orange peel and berries all feature in the taste. Interesting but not one of Fantome's better ones.

(Bottle, 0.75 l - BBE 2022, at One Pint Pub, 20190124) The beer poured ruby red and clear. Its head was medium sized and white. Aroma had fruitiness, spiciness, Belgian style yeast and lightly caramel. Palate was medium bodied with medium carbonation. Flavours were fruitiness, caramel, spiciness, Belgian style yeast, malts and bitterness. Aftertaste was spicy, yeasty and bitter. A well done brew with spicy yeast and caramel malts.

One of Fantôme's many saison variations, 75 cl bottle from Etre Gourmet shared with my girlfriend. Thick and frothy, cobweb-lacing, pale greyish white, stable head residing over a hazy peach-hued amber coloured beer. Aroma of bitter honey, dried grapefruit peel, roasted carrots, wormwood leaves, peach, raw potato, 'jenever', cooked pumpkin, cloves. Mildly estery onset, restrained in sweetness with light notes of peach, pear and apple, fizzy carbonation adding a sourish factor, supple soggy-bready malt base with light nutty edges; earthy, spicy and 'rooty' finish, very long quinine- and wormwood-like hop bitterness, bready yeast effects and strong spicy phenols, followed by a warming glow of 'jenever'-like alcohol blending with the hop bitterness and accentuating it. Bit reminiscent of Orval in its heydays, in its combination of hop bitterness, nutty malty aspects and Belgian yeastiness, but in all a bit 'empty' and straightforward; enjoyable enough, but rather inconspicuous in relation to the rest of Fantôme's range.

Bottle. Malt Attacks, Brussels. Hazed, reddy amber. Thick, foamy, lasting, off white head. Nose has spicy, flowery hop. Ginger biscuit malt. Hint of raisin and sultana. A little wheaty and chocolatey. Taste is leafy, spicy bitter. Some brown sugar sweetness. Yeasty and dry, too. Medium body. Slick and oily. Soft carbonation. Long, spicy bitterness to finish. Nice one.
