From a 440ml can on 15/9/2019 (shared by Butz with thanks). pours a super clear light golden with little head. The nose is very strong and grapefruity. The taste features some me sweet fruit up front, with lots of distinctive pink grapefruit at the back. The bitterness is slightly tart and tangy. Medium bodied with moderate carbonation. Very enjoyable.

1st September 2019
Can. Light haze on this gold beer, small bubbly pale cream colour head. Light palate, good fine minerally crispness. Thinnish malts still provide a decent sweetness. Taste follows the nose and provides a good bright juicy pink grapefruit. Some pine and a whisper of citrus. Light crisp finish. Bright and quaffable if slightly one note. Could drink this by the pint on a warm evening.

29/VIII/19 - 44cl can from a Tesco supermarket, shared @ home, BB: 7/V/20, canned: n/a - (2019-1327)
Clear blond beer, small creamy white head, little stable, adhesive, leaving a nice lacing in the glass. Aroma: oh my, that's a lot of grapefruit aroma, smells more like artificial grapefruit lemonade, or boxed grapefruit, which we all know has aroma's added as well. Lots of orange peel and orange flavoured candy as well. Way too artificial impression. MF: ok carbon, medium body. Taste: lots and lots of grapefruit all right, citrus, orange flavoured candy (artificial), bit of a soapy bitterness. Aftertaste: bitter, lots of grapefruit, bit artificial, soapy, more grapefruit. Nope, not a fan. Either you do real grapefruit beer, or you do nothing. About as bad as that peach IPA from last spring, “Melba”. Way too artificial and overpowering…

Can at 100 piv. Very easy drinking. Well attenuated, rather thin ody, moderate carbonation. ABV hidden well. Grapefruit featuring gently - not much, but not too little either. Slightly sourish. Overall loads of fruitiness, tropical, citrusy. Very tasty, very good.

Can at home in the heatwave, 24th July 19. Pours a clear golden ale. Aroma is citrus, grapefruit juice. Taste is grapefruit, some sweetness, slight pith. It’s OK, nothing like the stunning original

Can 440ml (Alko web) A bit hazy yellow colour, small white head. Aroma is strong pink (blood) grapefruit. Light to medium-bodied. In the flavour grapefruit (flesh) dominates. Pale malty. Suprisingly light for its ABV. Very fruity - grapefruity. As such, pleasant but this is more simple than the original Halcyon.
