Cask and keg (side by side) at The Grapes/Beerd, Sunday 5th June 2016 Very dark brown the keg has a much bigger light beige creamy head, the cask a smaller head that soon becomes a filmy sheen. Both versions tasty but a little too sweet and not as hoppy as I would like. In the end I decided to blend 2/3 cask 1/3 Keg the cask needed chilling down a little. It’s fine but a bit chewy and lacking a hoppy zap. A6 A4 T7 P4 Ov12 3.3

Cask at the Bootlegger, HW, 01/05/16. Extremely dark mahogany brown with a decent khaki head, Nose is light roast, charr, treacele toffee, earthy red berry. Taste comprises roast malt, light coca rub, mulled orange, spice, liqourice. Medium bodied, soft carbonation, semi drying close with an earthy hop dusting. Ok CDA but lacks hop presence and the background tropical fruit interplay I crave from this style.
