Young’s London Gold is key member of the Young’s range. As the name suggests it’s a golden beer with a refreshing taste.
London Gold is available as a cask beer and also as a bottle conditioned beer.
The bottled conditioned variant is an unpasteurised, living beer, matured in the bottle for a fuller, more complex, multi-dimensional, fresher taste. With no artificial carbonation, the only fizz is the natural effervescence created by fermentation.

Dec 2009: Bottle conditioned, so poured slowly into a vase shaped pint glass, two and a half months before its BBD. What little sediment there was stayed within the bottle. Golden orange colour with not much of a head, the pour might have contributed to the poor head though? Mild citrus aromas along with some hops esters and light malts. Sharp, crisp and refreshing, almost lager-like in the first sip. The hops then take over and a bitterness not found in many lagers comes to the fore. A bit lightweight in the body, lacks depth and complexity. A Mr Average beer, not unpleasant, but not something I’ll look out for again.

Draught at Bishop’s Arms Vasagatan, Stockholm. Clear deep golden, small head. Fruity nose with slight cardboard. Sweetish with clea mouthfeel and light-medium body. Some sweaty ripe fruits, salty mid bitter finish. Just another half lifeless English keg ale.

Draught at Bishops Arms Vasagatan, Stockholm, on December 13, 2011As "Youngs London Gold"Clear golden color, or copper (in bad light), small off-white head. Buttery, creamy, malty, grainy, caramel taste. Metallic and apple aftertaste. Prolonged dry bitterness. MEdium thin to thin mouthfeel, medium low bitterness. Malty, fairly weak scent. A tad bit boring perhaps, but it has great "hinkabilitet"!
