Young’s London Gold is key member of the Young’s range. As the name suggests it’s a golden beer with a refreshing taste.
London Gold is available as a cask beer and also as a bottle conditioned beer.
The bottled conditioned variant is an unpasteurised, living beer, matured in the bottle for a fuller, more complex, multi-dimensional, fresher taste. With no artificial carbonation, the only fizz is the natural effervescence created by fermentation.

Cask at the Cannie Man, Bracknell. Amber with a tight white head; floral aroma with some underlying malts; grainy body with a sweet orange fruit taste and a light bitterness before a dry biscuity finish.

500ml bottle. Clear golden yellow colour, thin frothy white head and aroma of light malt, grainy & fruity, with grass and a slightly metallic note. Taste is sweetish malt, grain, fruity and grassy notes, with a light dry bitterness. Light body with medium carbonation. Quite OK.

Cask on 29th July 2012. Gold with thin lasting white head and full lacing. Fruity and yeasty aroma. Citric in-mouth with nuttiness, berry fruits and biscuit malt. Strawberry note. Fruity end with smoothish creamy mouthfeel.

On tap @ Bayswater arms. This is a clear golden one with a small fading white top. The aroma is light malty with a tone of cellar and smoke. The last part could easily be the guy smoking just outside. A bit anonymous, boring and definitely low. It's soft on the carbonation and it has a thin almost watery body. Mild malty flavor, some leafs perhaps? Not really much going on her. Low on the bitterness as well. No, this was not something I have to try again, even if it wasn't any bad flavors here. 20.07.2012

Cask at the Tin Goose, LHR T1 - 24/08/12. Pours a clear gold with thin white head which retained well resulting in plenty of lacing from top to bottom. Malt, grain, honey and a little citrus hops on the nose. Taste pretty much matches nose with a little grass and the honey still evident in the background. Medium boided, slightly overcarbonated leading to a slight bitter finish. First Youngs beer I’d had in a while and I was surprised - not a bad pint!

Light golden, some haze, rich white head, some lacing
Aroma - soft golden malts, light metallic minerals, hint of lemon, soft yeast, bit sour
Taste - lemon hop, soft zest, grainy golden pale malts, hint of corn, bit yeasty, minerals
Palate - soft carb, light to medium body, soft bitter. Finish quite dry, slight buttery. metallic minerals on tail
