Aroma of roast, chocolate, vanilla, chocolate chip cookies, cream, chocolate cake, Bourbon, cinnamon, some coffee notes. Flavour is big sweetness. Body is massive and thick. Literally like drinking a dessert with alcohol. Extreme and delicious.

Goal-scoring celebration: dark black pour with a lasting tan head. Aromas of cocoa, malts, white bread, vanilla, some bourbon and orange marmelade. Taste is vanilla, roasted oak, dark chocolate, bourbon for a slightly boozy, but nice finish.

330ml can – Pours black in colour with a small mostly lasting tan head. Aroma is roasted malts, cocoa powder, chocolate cookies and woody bourbon notes. A moderately sweet to sweet taste, cocoa powder, milk chocolate, roasted malt and vanilla flavours with bourbon and warming alcohol notes in the finish. Very morish.

330ml can. Dark appearance, good beige head. Very good aroma, chocolatey, bourbon, vanilla all coming to introduce themselves. Taste is exceptionally well balanced, excellent chocolate and honeyed bourbon with subtle vanilla and cinnamon coming through on the close. Very good blend. Miss the days when we used to get excited about Magic Rock.

330ml can from Sophie's Beer Store; BB 17th Feb 2021. Drank at home on 7th Jun 2020 during my 'Dark Beer Tasting Session' with myself and no one else! Tanned foam on top of a black, viscous body. It's malty (surprise, surprise) with coffee, chocolate and vanilla in almost equal measures nose and taste wise initially. Cinnamon and spices in the background, chocolate comes through more as the beer warms a little. Didn't really find any BA Bourbon bits, still liked it though.

Can. Dark brown to black in the glass with a small dark beige head. The aroma has lots of roasted malts, with dark caramel sauce, burnt hints, soy sauce hints and some vague hints of licorice. It's full bodied, lightly warning and sticky on the palate, with meaty roasted malts and dark caramel sauce. Coffee and a touch of dark chocolate. Lasting finish. A delicious one indeed, complex and dark. 200517
