(Keg at Sori Taproom, 20190921) The beer poured deep red and clear. Its head was medium sized and pink. Aroma had fruitiness, boysenberries and sweetness. Palate was medium bodied with medium carbonation. Flavours were boysenberries, tartness, sweetness, malts and bitterness. Aftertaste was sweet, tart and bitter. A bit too sweet tart brew.

750 ml bottle into tulip glass, bottled on 1/18/2018. Pours slightly hazy deep ruby red/light purple color with a 1-2 finger fairly dense and fluffy light pink head with solid retention, that reduces to a thin spotty lace cap that lingers. Light spotty lacing clings on the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation retaining the cap. Aromas of big sour/tart/tangy blackberry, raspberry, blueberry, fruit skin/seeds, lemon, peach, plum, cherry, pear, melon, red/green apple, currant, red grape/wine, oak, hay, straw, grass, pepper, wheat, cracker, white bread, light leathery/musty funk, and yeast/oak earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of fruity/funky/acidic/spicy yeast, boysenberries, oak barrels, and moderate pale/wheat malt notes; with great strength. Taste of big sour/tart/tangy blackberry, raspberry, blueberry, fruit skin/seeds, lemon, peach, plum, cherry, pear, melon, red/green apple, currant, red grape/wine, oak, hay, straw, grass, pepper, wheat, cracker, white bread, light leathery/musty funk, and yeast/oak earthiness. Light-moderate fruity/lactic tartness, fruit tang, and yeast/oak spiciness on the finish. Lingering notes of tart/tangy berries, fruit skin/seeds, lemon, peach, plum, cherry, pear, melon, red/green apple, currant, red grape/wine, oak, hay, straw, grass, pepper, wheat, cracker, white bread, light leathery/musty funk, and yeast/oak earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Incredible complexity, robustness, and balance of fruity/funky/acidic/spicy yeast, boysenberries, oak barrels, and moderate pale/wheat malt flavors; with an awesome malt/tartness, tangy fruit, and spiciness balance; with no puckering/astringent flavors after the finish. Light-moderate increasing dryness from tartness, tangy fruit, yeast/oak spiciness, and carbonation. Medium-high carbonation and light-medium body; with a very smooth, moderately crisp, and bready/grainy/acidic/tangy/tannic balanced mouthfeel that is fantastic. Zero warming alcohol for 6.3%. Overall this is a fantastic fruited sour/wild ale. All around outstanding complexity, robustness, and balance of fruity/funky/acidic/spicy yeast, boysenberries, oak barrels, and moderate pale/wheat malt flavors; very smooth, crisp, and easy to drink with the modestly acidic/tangy/tannic/drying finish; not overly lactic. Amazingly balanced juicy/jammy berries, and Brett/Bacteria complexity; nice oak presence, and pale/wheat malts against acidity. A highly enjoyable offering, and spot on style example as expected. Their fruited sours are always impressive. This was not as lactically sour as most others.
