Our version of an ESB. Still within the limits but bringing you something from the old world in a new way. Some modern hops bring back the 'extra special' in this classic.

East Kent Gouldings hops are used in this malt forward can of deliciousness.

Nitro flight pour at brewery under Neopanamax. Pours clear yellow with white nitro head. Not much aroma. Flavour has nice bready malts. Smooth nitro mouthfeel. Very simple and malty, it's fine.

Poured from 473mL can. Clear copper with off white head. Grainy malt with some very light bread malt, hint of hops. Pretty boring, lacklustre.

Vague malt nose. Balanced palate, fruity notes. Drinkable but more of a bitter than an ESB

Draught at the brewery. Husky, some fusel notes, nice brassy colour. Doesn't come together on the fermentation side for me.

Clear copper with a decent white head. Caramel and light wood notes. Caramel and bitter notes with a woody finish.

Ligght amber colour, relatively clear. Mild malt base, with delicate fruity esters and balanced bitterness; a quite drinkable British Ale that doesn't have the more robust, earthy character of an ESB.

On tap at St. Augustine's, pours a clear copper golden with a small white head. Aroma brings out bready malt and gentle English hops. Flavour is on point, with bready malt, English hops, and light pine. Really nicely balanced, with a great hop character and bready maltiness. Really good.

Can found in Burnaby. Okay lighter copper body, strong carbonation, nice light beige foam on top. Smells of crisp deeper lager grains, slight hops, biscuit is not prominent. Flavour is middling lager, reminds me more of lager than ESB. Maltiness isn't as pronounced as the hops, comes across more of a dark lager. Which is fine, and it's okay that way.
