Draught at HighSide in Fairfax: pours hazy with white head. Aroma is citrusy plus herby mosaic notes. Slight booze, big fruit, low malt. Solid.

16 ounce can into tulip glass, canned on 7/31/2019. Pours opaquely hazy deep golden/orange/amber color with a 1-2 finger fairly dense and fluffy off white head with great retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Nice dense spotty foamy lacing clings on the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation. Aromas of big tangerine, red grapefruit, lemon, lime, peach, pear, pineapple, apricot, passion fruit, papaya, mango, honeydew melon, guava, blueberry, citrus peel/rind, wood, mint, peppercorn, pine, wheat, cracker, biscuit dough, light honey/toast, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of citrus/fruity/tropical/earthy hops and bready malt notes; with big strength. Taste of big tangerine, red grapefruit, lemon, lime, peach, pear, pineapple, apricot, passion fruit, papaya, mango, honeydew melon, guava, blueberry, citrus peel/rind, wood, mint, peppercorn, pine, wheat, cracker, biscuit dough, light honey/toast, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness. Light-moderate pine, citrus peel/rind, herbal, floral, woody, grassy, peppery bitterness on the finish. Lingering notes of tangerine, red grapefruit, lemon, lime, peach, pear, pineapple, apricot, passion fruit, papaya, mango, honeydew melon, guava, blueberry, citrus peel/rind, wood, mint, peppercorn, pine, wheat, cracker, biscuit dough, light honey/toast, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness on the finish for a while. Fantastic complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/fruity/tropical/earthy hops and bready malt flavors; with an awesome malt/bitterness balance, and no cloying/astringent flavors after the finish. Light-moderate increasing dryness from lingering bitterness. Medium carbonation and medium-plus body; with a very smooth, creamy/bready/grainy, and sticky/resinous/rindy balanced mouthfeel that is great. Mild increasing warmth of 8.5% after the finish. Overall this is a fantastic DIPA. All around fantastic complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/fruity/tropical/earthy hops and bready malt flavors; very smooth and easy to drink for the big ABV, with the modestly bitter/resinous/drying finish. Nicely soft, and not overly aggressive. Fantastic Mosaic showcase. Extremely juicy, vibrant, dank, and earthy balanced hop complexity; with a nice sized wheat/oat/malt backbone. Mild residual sweetness with lingering resin dryness. A highly enjoyable offering, and outstanding style example. Loved the hop profile as expected.

Draught at Publick House, 6/19/18.
Soupy bronze-maize. White head fading quickly to a ring.
Spicy, floral notes with nectarine skin and lemon. Some scallion, with light cracker-like malts behind it all. Kind of dull with sharp perfume not really doing much to interest. Light, airy, vegetal, rather unfocused. No alcohol or resin, though.
In the mouth, it shows strong floral-tinged perfume character with bitter pine, followed by a reprieve of softer, honey-accented malts but then transitioning in to harsh, raw, ethanol. It cuts the already questionably thin texture and dulls the flavor. Sharp finish with lots of spruce/pine, though not much resin. Too much raw alcohol, ultimately, and the hop notes get twangy, as well.

Big bottle at home watching Celtics lose game 6 but in not embarrassing way bought from Half Barrel Beer Project. Fine looking cloudy yellow orange with one finger head. Nose is lovely lime citrus berry and dank weed. Tastes similar mango (just learned not citrus), pine, sticky icky, pineapple, strawberry and some spice was. Burns the tongue. Some slight sweet fruit in finish. Quite liked.
