12 oz. can purchased at Total Wine & Liquor in Colorado Springs, CO. Pours a cloudy dark gold color with a large white head and excellent retention. Fair lacing. Weak wheat aroma. Good wheat base beer with a softer and lightly sweeter honey finish. Good blend. Almost drinks like a lager. Heavy body. The 7.5% ABV is well hidden. More, please. I'm a fan.

Got in a trade with beergoot. 12 ounce can into tulip glass, no can dating. Pours moderately hazy/cloudy deep golden amber color with a 1-2 finger dense and rocky off white head with fantastic retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lasts. Thick soapy lacing clings on the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation. Aromas of big lemon, orange, peach, pear, melon, red apple, peppercorn, clove, light banana/bubblegum, honey, wheat, cracker, white bread dough, lightly toasted biscuit, herbal, floral, wood, grass, and yeast earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of honey, fruity/spicy yeast, pale/wheat malts, and light-moderate earthy hop notes; with big strength. Taste of big lemon, orange, peach, pear, melon, red apple, peppercorn, clove, light banana/bubblegum, honey, wheat, cracker, white bread dough, lightly toasted biscuit, herbal, floral, wood, grass, and yeast earthiness. Light-moderate herbal, floral, woody, grassy bitterness; pepper/clove yeast spiciness; and light wheat tang/tartness on the finish. Lingering notes of lemon, orange, peach, pear, melon, red apple, peppercorn, clove, light banana/bubblegum, honey, wheat, cracker, white bread dough, lightly toasted biscuit, herbal, floral, wood, grass, and yeast earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Great complexity, robustness, and balance of honey, fruity/spicy yeast, pale/wheat malts, and light-moderate earthy hop flavors; with a great malt/bitter/spiciness balance and no cloying/astringent flavors after the finish. Fairly crisp finishing. Light-moderate increasing dryness from lingering bitter/spiciness. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth and moderately creamy/bready/grainy/sticky balanced mouthfeel that is great. Minimal warming alcohol for 7.5%. Overall this is an excellent honey imperial APWA. All around great complexity, robustness, and balance of honey, fruity/spicy yeast, pale/wheat malts, and light-moderate earthy hop flavors; very smooth and fairly crisp/refreshing to drink with the modestly bitter/spicy/drying finish; not aggressive. Awesome balance of citrus/floral honey, American wheat yeast, and clean pale/wheat malts; with nice earthy hop presence/balance for the style. Minimal residual sweetness with crisp drying. A very enjoyable offering, and impressive style example for an imperial version.

Sample. Light gold color, with a big, bubbly, off-white head. The nose is biscuit, clover honey, mandarin oranges, and some interesting phenols. Sweet and yeasty, with a good dose of bitterness. Medium body, thick, and a little too thick. This is a fun beer, and very heavy for a wheat beer.
