16 ounce can into tulip glass; no can dating, but is a recent release. Pours opaquely hazy deep golden amber/light orange color with a 2 finger dense and rocky off white head with fantastic retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lasts. Thick foamy lacing clings on the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation. Fantastic appearance. Aromas of sour/tart/tangy apricots, fruit skin/pits, lemon, lime, orange, red grapefruit, peach, pear, pineapple, passion fruit, papaya, mango, honeydew melon, guava, blueberry, gooseberry, red/green apple, white grape/wine, citrus peel/rind, wood, peppercorn, pine, hay, straw, herbal, floral, grass, wheat, cracker, white bread dough, and lightly toasted biscuit; with lighter notes of leathery/musty/lacto funk and yeast earthiness. Nice aromas with good balance and complexity of apricots, citrus/fruity/tropical/earthy hops, fruity/funky/spicy/acidic yeast, and bready malt notes; with good strength. Taste of big sour/tart/tangy apricots, fruit skin/pits, lemon, lime, orange, red grapefruit, peach, pear, pineapple, passion fruit, papaya, mango, honeydew melon, guava, blueberry, gooseberry, red/green apple, white grape/wine, citrus peel/rind, wood, peppercorn, pine, hay, straw, herbal, floral, grass, wheat, cracker, white bread dough, and lightly toasted biscuit; with lighter notes of leathery/musty/lacto funk and yeast earthiness. Light-moderate pine, citrus peel/rind, herbal, floral, woody, grassy, peppery bitterness; Brett spiciness; fruity/lactic tartness, and fruit tang on the finish. Lingering notes of tart/tangy apricots, fruit skin/pits, lemon, lime, orange, red grapefruit, peach, pear, pineapple, passion fruit, papaya, mango, honeydew melon, guava, blueberry, gooseberry, red/green apple, white grape/wine, citrus peel/rind, wood, peppercorn, pine, hay,m straw, herbal, floral, grass, wheat, cracker, white bread dough, biscuit, light leather/musty/lacto funk, and yeast earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Very nice complexity, robustness, and balance of apricots, citrus/fruity/tropical/earthy hops, fruity/funky/spicy/acidic yeast, and bready malt flavors; with a great malt/bitterness and tang/tartness balance; with no puckering/astringent flavors after the finish. Light-moderate increasing dryness from lingering bitterness tartness, and tangy fruit. Medium carbonation and medium-plus body; with a very smooth, moderately creamy/bready/grainy/sticky, and fairly acidic/tangy/resinous/rindy balanced mouthfeel that is nice. Minimal warming alcohol for 8%. Overall this is a very good Sour DIPA. All around nice complexity, robustness, and balance of apricots, citrus/fruity/tropical/earthy hops, fruity/funky/spicy/acidic yeast, and bready malt flavors; very smooth and easy to drink with the modestly bitter/resinous/acidic/tangy/drying finish; not overly aggressive or lactic. Nice Mosaic, Amarillo and Galaxy profile. Great balance between apricots, juicy/fairly dank/earthy hops, and Brett/Bacteria complexity; with a nice wheat/oat/malt backbone. Minimal residual sweetness with lingering bitter/acidic/tangy dryness. Not sure if this was supposed to be a sour DIPA in the first place, but it was very enjoyable for what it was anyways.
