Clear golden coloured body with a thinnish, single centimetre tall pure white head that leaves a small lace on the side of the glass. Aroma of grass, light hay, some herbal hops and a light dose of malt - fairly understated, especially for the style. Light to Medium-bodied; Nice more assertive hops show up front with some grassy and very herbal characteristics along with a dose of citrus fruits, which are all supported fairly nicely by a good biscuity malt and some yeast that shows through, even at the end. Aftertaste is dry and herbal with the hops the strongest and a little bitterness from the alpha acids, but not akin to a West Coast IPA by any means. Overall, a deep and dry IPA that has a good balance, nice flavours from the dry and herbal characteristics, while still showing some light bitterness, a soft sweetness from the citrus fruits and an easy-drinking and straight-forward [middle of the country] IPA. I sampled this twelve ounce can, purchased at Hy-Vee in Lincoln, Nebraska on 20-January-2020 for US$1,67 sampled in my hotel room, back in Omaha, Nebraska on 21-January-2020.

Got in a trade with The-Adjunct-Hippie. 12 ounce can into tulip glass, canned on 4/2/2019. Pours fairly hazy/cloudy deep golden amber color with a 1 finger dense and rocky off white head with great retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Nice spotty soapy lacing clings on the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation. Aromas of big tangerine, red grapefruit, lemon, lime, peach, pear, pineapple, apricot, passion fruit, papaya, red apple, mango, honeydew, watermelon, guava, berries, citrus peel/rind, wood, peppercorn, pine, cracker, white bread dough, toasted biscuit, light honey, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of citrus/fruity/tropical/fairly earthy hops and moderate bready malt notes; with great strength. Taste of big tangerine, red grapefruit, lemon, lime, peach, pear, pineapple, apricot, passion fruit, papaya, red apple, mango, honeydew, watermelon, guava, berries, citrus peel/rind, wood, peppercorn, pine, cracker, white bread dough, toasted biscuit, light honey, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness. Light-moderate pine, citrus peel/rind, herbal, floral, woody, grassy, peppery bitterness on the finish. Lingering notes of tangerine, red grapefruit, lemon, lime, peach, pear, pineapple, apricot, passion fruit, papaya, red apple, mango, honeydew, watermelon, guava, berries, citrus peel/rind, wood, peppercorn, pine, cracker, white bread dough, toasted biscuit, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Awesome complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/fruity/tropical/fairly earthy hops and moderate bready malt flavors; with an awesome malt/bitterness balance, and no lingering hop astringency after the finish. Light-moderate increasing dryness from lingering bitterness. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth, moderately creamy/bready/grainy/sticky, and fairly crisp/resinous/rindy balanced mouthfeel that is great. Zero warming alcohol for 6.3%. Overall this is an awesome IPA. All around awesome complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/fruity/tropical/fairly earthy hops and moderate bready malt flavors; very smooth and fairly crisp/refreshing to drink with the modestly bitter/resinous/drying finish. Nicely soft feel and not overly aggressive. Feels like Mosaic, Galaxy, El Dorado. Very juicy, vibrant, and fairly dank/earthy hops; with a great clean pale malt backbone. Minimal residual sweetness with lingering crisp resin dryness. A really enjoyable offering, and highly impressive west coast style example.

Can from Huskertan, thanks! Pours copper with frothy head that leaves lacing all over the place. Aroma is pine and grapefruit, but really leaning in on the pine. Taste is quite bitter... really in a sense you seldom aee these days in modern IPAs. Body is pretty smooth. I can't say I dig this style like I did ten years ago, but this is still solid.
