The short story is that Coffee is one of two inaugural stouts that was first brewed for us at Dugges under the Twelve Percent beer project in the USA. We’ve done a bunch of coffee stouts so it just seemed the right thing to do while introducing our first US brewed stouts to the public. We loved that beer so much we decided to brew it again, at our own place in Landvetter, Sweden. It might be the best coffee stout we’ve ever done!

(Bottle) Dark brown colour, almost black, with brief beige head. Malty, roasted nose with notes of coffee, dark chocolate, tobacco, brown sugar and vanilla. Malty, roasted, sweet taste with black coffee, dark chocolate, tobacco, dark bread, brown sugar, raisins, vanilla and a mild coffee bitterness in the finish. Full body, sweet. On the sweet side and fairly one-dimensional, but really rich with lots of fresh coffee. Very nice.

Tap at 73 Enid Street. A chestnut brown coloured pour with a whispy mid tan head. Aroma is big earthy roast coffee, coffee grounds, pepper, brown sugars. Flavour is composed of semi sweet rounded coffee roast, bean, light char, balanced by brown sugars. Hint of vanilla. Palate is semi sweet, light spicy finish, mellow carbonation. Full bodied. Lovely coffee character.

Can sample at a tasting at Yoav's place. Black. Lots of coffee beans, roast, mocha, sweet, rather full-bodied. Nice.

Very dark reddish brown. Creamy but unstable foam. Smells cofee. Sharp carbonation, but creamy after that. Lots of coffee, bitter roast but with some sweetness smoothing things out nicely. Maybe a tad too bitter for balance, but not bad at all! Pleasant.
