Follow our journey as we flavor it out towards the perfect Stout. Step by step, beer by beer, on and on. Forever! This is Fudge. A big imperial stout brewed with vanilla and cocoa to really pack that fudge-punch. Candy!
The short story is that Fudge is one of two inaugural stouts that was first brewed for us at Dugges under the Twelve Percent beer project in the USA. We’ve done a bunch of stouts so it just seemed the right thing to do while introducing our first US brewed stouts to the public. We loved Fudge so much we decided to brew it again, at our own place in Landvetter, Sweden. It is the best Fudge stout we’ve ever done… (Ok, we’ve only done one, but still.)

(Bottle) Dark brown colour, almost black, with brief bubbly head. Malty, roasty nose with dark chocolate, toasted coconut, raisins, butterscotch, coffee and vanilla. Malty, roasted, sweetish taste with notes of chocolate, toasted coconut, raisins, butterscotch, fudge, coffee, vanilla and a mild cacao bitterness in the finish. Almost full body, sweet. A bit of a caramel and chocolate bomb. Rich, strong, sweet and tasty. Very nice.

Bottle. Big caramel fudge aroma with toffee, soft roast, chocolate, vanilla, brown malts. Medium sweet, butterscotch, medium plus body. Name is fitting for this uber-fudge beer.

Bottle from Murphy's Law. Dark brown with beige head. Massive fudge, caramel, vanilla, coconut, alcohol, suntan lotion, toffee, sugary malts. Very sweet. Over medium body.

On tap at Royal Gastropub, Oslo. Has a cloudy brown colour with a small beige head. Aroma of raisins, fudge, winegums and brown sugar. Some milk chocolate. Sweet flavour of fudge, wine gums, milk chocolate and Coca cola. Has a soft mouth feel, full-bodied and a light bitterness. Sweet and candy like. Decent enough.

Svart med tynt beige skum. Lukter fudge, vanilje og sjokolade. Litt mindre fylde enn jeg hadde forventet. Karamellprwg i smaken også. Både sødme og salt i smaken.
