16 ounce can into tulip glass, canned in 2/2019. Pours very hazy/murky deep golden amber/light orange color with a 1 finger fairly dense and rocky off white head with great retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Nice spotty soapy lacing clings on the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation. Aromas of big juicy/lightly tart/tangy strawberries, mandarin orange juice, red grapefruit, lemon, peach, pear, pineapple, apricot, passion fruit, papaya, mango, honeydew melon, guava, blueberry, gooseberry, citrus peel/rind, light peppercorn/pine, vanilla, cream, wheat, cracker, biscuit dough, light honey, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness. Very nice aromas with good balance and complexity of strawberries, citrus/fruity/tropical hops, lactose, and bready malt notes; with great strength. Taste of big juicy/lightly tart/tangy strawberries, mandarin orange juice, red grapefruit, lemon, peach, pear, pineapple, apricot, passion fruit, papaya, mango, honeydew melon, guava, blueberry, gooseberry, citrus peel/rind, peppercorn, pine, vanilla, cream, wheat, cracker, biscuit dough, light honey, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness. Light-moderate pine, citrus peel/rind, herbal, floral, grassy, peppery bitterness; and light fruit tang/tartness on the finish. Lingering notes of strawberries, mandarin orange juice, red grapefruit, lemon, peach, pear, pineapple, apricot, passion fruit, papaya, mango, honeydew melon, guava, blueberry, gooseberry, citrus peel/rind, peppercorn, pine, vanilla, cream, wheat, cracker, biscuit dough, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Very nice complexity, robustness, and balance of strawberries, citrus/fruity/tropical/earthy hops, lactose, and bready malt flavors; with a nice malt/lactose/bitterness balance, and minimal lingering hop astringency after the finish. Light-moderate increasing dryness from lingering bitterness. Medium carbonation and medium-full body; with a very smooth, creamy/silky/bready/grainy, and fairly sticky/resinous/rindy mouthfeel that is good. Slight fruit tang/acidity. More bitter, resinous, and drying than expected; but not overwhelming. Minimal warming alcohol for 7.3%. Overall this is a very nice fruited milkshake NEIPA. All around nice complexity, robustness, and balance of strawberries, citrus/fruity/tropical/earthy hops, lactose, and bready malt flavors; very smooth and easy to drink; despite the increasingly bitter/resinous/drying finish, not overly aggressive. Feels like Citra, Mosaic, Galaxy. Well balanced between jammy strawberries, and juicy/dank/earthy hop complexity; with a nice sized lactose and wheat/oat/malt backbone. Minimal residual sweetness with lingering resin dryness. A very enjoyable offering, and well made style example.
