Big $3 pounder can from chalet premier. Pour is nearly clear pale with a decent white head that fades. Nose is mild pickled jalapenos, no lie. First nig swig is certainly j peppers and there is a the bitter IPA backbone fer sher. This is exactly as advertised; a jalapeno pepper IPA. A warming sensation developes. Different, but not being fond of IPA, its still a little difficult to take. Not sure if the effect of the peppers or not, but there is a bit of unpleasant astringent bite in there. In the middle, its especially prevalent. Maybe if I drank this iced cold, it may be better to handle, but at straight up regular refrigerated temps, its not good for this macro lager lover. Whew.

I was expecting this to be pretty bad, and it's not bad. Kind of almost works, like drinking a hazy IPA with some spicy tacos. Grapefruit, some lemon.

16oz can pour a lightly hazy yellow with some sticky white head. Pretty expressive with the jalapeño, green, some grist, some herbs. Flavor is green pepper and peppercorn, there's some heat. Heat but balanced. Not terrible.

16oz can. Poured a clear, dark golden color with a medium sized white head. Aroma ha a little light peppery notes. A little bit of fruity heat, but not overwhelming. Some light tropical fruit, light resin.

Dark gold with a large white head that left excellent lacing. Strong earthy hops followed by green pepper and hot pepper. Long finish. Medium body.

16 ounce can into tulip glass, no can dating. Pours fairly hazy/cloudy medium golden amber color with a 1-2 finger fairly dense and rocky off white head with fantastic retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lasts. Thick foamy lacing clings on the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation. Fantastic appearance. Aromas of big tangerine, red grapefruit, lemon, jalapeno/skin, peach, pear, pineapple, passion fruit, papaya, mango, honeydew melon, guava, blueberry, citrus peel/zest, light peppercorn, pine, honey, lightly toasted biscuit, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of citrus/fruity/tropical hops, jalapeno peppers, and moderate bready malt notes; with great strength. Taste of big tangerine, red grapefruit, lemon, jalapeno/skin, peach, pear, pineapple, passion fruit, papaya, mango, honeydew melon, guava, blueberry, citrus peel/zest, light peppercorn, pine, honey, lightly toasted biscuit, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness. Light-moderate pine, citrus peel/zest, herbal, floral, woody, grassy, peppery bitterness; and jalapeno spiciness on the finish. Lingering notes of tangerine, red grapefruit, lemon, jalapeno/skin, peach, pear, pineapple, passion fruit, papaya, mango, honeydew melon, guava, blueberry, citrus peel/zest, light peppercorn, pine, honey, lightly toasted biscuit, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Great complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/fruity/tropical hops, jalapeno peppers, and moderate bready malt flavors; with a great malt/bitter/spiciness balance, and no lingering hop/pepper astringency after the finish. Light-moderate increasing dryness from lingering bitter/spiciness. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth, moderately creamy/bready/sticky, and lightly resinous/rindy balanced mouthfeel that is great. Zero warming alcohol for 6.8%. Mild increasing pepper heat through the glass after the finish, but not overwhelming. Overall this is an excellent spiced IPA. All around great complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/fruity/tropical hops, jalapeno peppers, and moderate bready malt flavors; very smooth and easy to drink with the modestly bitter/spicy/drying finish. Very Midwest feeling style. Just their standard IPA brewed with peppers. Awesome Mosaic/Simcoe profile as usual. Very juicy and fairly dank hops, with balanced pepper flavors; and a nice bready malt backbone. Mild residual sweetness with lingering dryness. A very enjoyable offering, and well made style example as expected. Nothing overwhelming.

Sample at the brewpub. Hazy orange-gold color with a medium thin white head that recedes steadily to a film. Short strings of lacing. Aroma of hops, peppers and malt. Medium body with an underlying jalapeño pepper character and notes of floral hops, fruit and malt. The finish is peppery and hoppy with a spicy aftertaste. Decent overall.
