Bottle, 75cl corked. Kindly shared by bergstaden. It pours an unclear dark brown body under a small, dense, light beige, head. The aroma is quite cellar-ish, with alcohol, roasted malts, dark dried fruits, caramel and some chocolate. It's full-bodied, warming and nicely carbonated, with mostly malty flavors. Roasted malts, caramel, dark dried fruits and a touch of vanilla in the flavor. Alcohol and brown sugar notes, and a lasting finish with caramel, vanilla and booze. A bit sharp and boozy this one, but quite nice anyway. 190929

750 ml bottle into tulip glass, bottled on 12/14/2017. Pours nearly opaque dark brown/black color with a 1-2 finger fairly dense and rocky khaki head with great retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Nice spotty soapy lacing clings on the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation. Aromas of big milk chocolate, cocoa, vanilla, rum, caramel, brown sugar, cream, toffee, toasted oak, and brown bread; with light notes of raisin, molasses, licorice, coffee, smoke, herbal, and oak/toasted earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of dark/roast/bready malts, vanilla, and rum barrel notes; with great strength. Taste of big milk chocolate, cocoa, vanilla, rum, caramel, brown sugar, cream, toffee, toasted oak, and brown bread; with light notes of raisin, molasses, licorice, coffee, smoke, herbal, and oak/toasted earthiness. Light herbal/roast bitterness, and rum/oak tannin spiciness on the finish. Lingering notes of milk chocolate, cocoa, vanilla, rum, caramel, brown sugar, cream, toffee, toasted oak, brown bread, light coffee/molasses/licorice/dark fruit, herbal, and roast/oak/toasted earthiness on the finish for a while. Great complexity, robustness, and balance of dark/roast/bready malts, vanilla, and rum barrel flavors; with a nice roast/hop bitter/sweet and rum/oak spiciness balance; with no cloying/astringent flavors after the finish. Lightly increasing bitterness from lingering hop/roast bitterness and rum/oak spiciness. Light-medium carbonation and medium-full body; with a very smooth, creamy/silky, and lightly sticky/chalky/tannic mouthfeel that is great. Mildly increasing warmth of 10.9%, with minimal barrel booziness lingering after the finish. Overall this is an excellent rum barrel aged imperial porter. All around great complexity, robustness, and balance of dark/roast/bready malts, vanilla, and rum barrel flavors; very smooth and dangerously easy to sip on for the big ABV, with the mildly bitter/drying finish. Enjoyed this just as much as the 25th rum barrel for the most part; but this is a little less rich/full bodied on malts, despite being higher ABV. Very well balanced malt complexity and vanilla; with perfect rum barrel integration. Never boozy or overly tannic/drying. A very enjoyable offering, and well made style example as expected.
