Named for the weight of their shot, the most common naval cannons were called "six pounders". At Heavy Seas, that means a six pack of crisp clean Pounder Pils.

Bottle at Jack Brown’s Charlottesville, 4/28/16. Clear golden, thin fizzy off-white head, good retention. Aroma of grassy, noble, herbal hops, pale malt. The taste is noble, grassy hops, pale malt. Medium bodied, lingering bitterness.

Noble hop dominated aroma, grass, hay, spearmint. Clear yellow, thin head. Malt and grass, even proportions, spearmint undercurrent. Slightly medicinal. Light body, dry, moderate carbonation. Old world ingredients, new world feel. Neat.

Single bottle date best by 8/17/16. Into a pilsner. Literally after mowing my lawn. A: Poured gently to a small fizzy head that fell quickly. Nice clear bubbly medium yellow color. S: Crisp crackers or hard white bread. Peppery/grassy hops. Light but nice. T: Sour dough malt flavor gives way to a smooth herbal hoppiness. All in balance and very good. M: Not as fizzy as it looks, with light smooth body and Dry bitter finish. O: This has been on my to -try list for a while and I’m glad I finally did. Good pilsner and not too expensive. Highly recommended to pilsner lovers, this is perfect for summer.
