Slumbering for 18 months, Ghosts in the Forest is a blend of beer from The Lost Abbey Oak Foeders and a few select French oak barrels. This blonde sour focuses on the complexity of Brettanomyces and oak.
“When we first got these massive Foeders, we knew we were going to have to be patient and let the oak work it’s magic” said Tomme Arthur, COO and Co-Founder of The Lost Abbey. “We’ve since added 3 additional vessels, creating our own “forest” and we’re really excited to start to blending these beers into future creations.”

Bottle from Hopt. Aroma is fruity and funky with citrus, wood, orange, peach, apricot, doughy malt, and tart lemon. Flavour is tart and medium sour, body is medium. Nicely fruity with mostly citrussy notes, lemon, some stone fruits, dry and sour. Lovely as usual from Lost Abbey.

Taster at FoBAB. There it's listed as 4.0% abv. And this is my 21st sample this afternoon, so I'm trying to space out with some lower abv's. Clean lager color, light gold with no foam, but has a nice Brett smell. A basic sour Brett beer, no extra fruit to come with it.

Hazy yellow, small white head. aroma is woody, sour and tart, citrussy, wild beery, resembles a leathery lambic more than a vineger wild belgian, faint phenolic note that is both well hidden and well integrated. Flavor is refreshingly citrussy tart sour, notes of wood, notes of leather. quite clean , quite simple, but well tasting. Sort of like a gueuze lambic.

Taster showing pale straw with a finger of clean white foam. The nose shows pronounced notes of brett and lightly intense sweet notes of Belgian sweet yeast. The palate is well carbonated and light bodied. Moderately tart with moderately intense flavors of brett and hints of Belgian yeast.
