Keg at the East Street Tap, Brighton. Gold pour with a white head. Lots of grapefruit in the nose with a little light spice and vanilla. Same doo-dah in the flavour. Refreshing.

Rare bottle. Warm. Smells good for a hoppy nose. Big head. Pale. Clear. Tastes like IPA mostly. Should be IPA styled, quite strong for an APA. Bitter. Brags that it’s 6%, no hiding this alky. If you like IPA, flip my numbers, its on style for an IPA.

12 ounce bottle into pint glass, bottled on 3/2/2017. Pours lightly hazy/cloudy deep golden yellow/light orange color with a 2 finger fairly dense and rocky off white head with great retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lasts. Thick soapy lacing clings down with glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation retaining the cap. Fantastic appearance. Aromas of grapefruit, tangerine, pineapple, peach, passion fruit, mango, papaya, lemon zest, orange peel, citrus rind, light pepper, pine, honey, toasted bread, herbal, and floral/grassy earthiness. Nice and pleasant aromas with good balance and complexity of citrus/tropical/pine hops, grapefruit peel, and moderate bready malt notes; with solid strength. Taste of big grapefruit, tangerine, pineapple, peach, passion fruit, mango, papaya, lemon zest, orange peel, citrus rind, light pepper, pine, honey, toasted bread, herbal, and floral/grassy earthiness. Moderate pine/citrus rind/grassy/spicy bitterness on the finish. Lingering notes of grapefruit, tangerine, pineapple, peach, passion fruit, mango, papaya, lemon/orange rind, pepper, pine, honey, toasted bread, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness on the finish for a while. Very nice complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/tropical/pine hops, grapefruit peel, and moderate bready malt flavors; with a nice malt/bitterness balance; slight lingering hop astringency through the glass, but not overwhelming. Light-moderate dryness from lingering resin/rind bitterness, increasing through the glass. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth, moderately creamy/bready/grainy, and sticky/resinous/rindy balanced mouthfeel that is nice. Zero warming alcohol as expected of 6%. Overall this is a very nice fruited pale ale. All around nice complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/tropical/pine hops, grapefruit peel, and moderate bready malt flavors; very smooth and easy to drink, despite the increasing bitter/resinous/drying finish. Very vibrant, juicy, and pretty dank on hops; with a nice bready Munich malt backbone. Never sweet or heavy feeling. Citra hops are showcased really well, and the grapefruit is not overwhelming. A very enjoyable offering.
