12 oz bottle from the winter variety pack. Expires 11 days from now. Aroma is caramel, cocoa (like chocolate milk), a hint of cloying malt. Pours hazy brown with burnt orange highlights and a one finger beige head with decent retention. Taste is sweet and roasty with matching flavors. Not bad at all.

12 oz. bottle. Pours a clear reddish-brown with a light-tan, tight-foamed, head that lingers for quite a while. Aromas of brown sugar, caramel, and citrus. Taste is bitter-sweet with flavors of burnt-caramel, unsweetened chocolate, and a hint of sour citrus (e.g. lemon, kumquat, or Buddha’s hand). Medium-bodied with slick texture and average carbonation. Finish is a bit on the astringent side, which I find a bit off-putting.

Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer poured a dark brown color with red highlights and a medium sized foamy soapy tan head that left decent lacing. The aroma was bitter with cocoa, nut, caramel and wood. The flavor was nutty and malty with hints of caramel, wood and cocoa. Medium length finish. Medium body. Meh.

12 ounce bottle into pint glass, best before 4/24/2017. Pours crystal clear deep ruby red/brown color with a 1-2 finger dense and rocky light khaki head with good retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Nice spotty soapy lacing clings down the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation. Aromas of caramel, brown sugar, brown bread, toasted biscuit, chocolate, and cocoa; with lighter notes of nuttiness, orange peel, pepper, herbal, and roast/toasted earthiness. Nice and pleasant aromas with good balance and complexity of dark/roast/bready malts and light-moderate citrus/earthy hop notes; with solid strength. Taste of caramel, brown sugar, brown bread, toasted biscuit, chocolate, and cocoa; with lighter notes of nuttiness, orange peel, pepper, and roast/toasted earthiness. Light-moderate herbal/spicy hop and roast bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of caramel, brown sugar, brown bread, toasted biscuit, chocolate, cocoa, nuttiness, herbal, pepper, and roast/toasted earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Nice complexity, robustness, and balance of dark/roast/bready malts and light-moderate citrus/earthy hop flavors; with a nice malt/bitterness balance, and zero cloying/astringent flavors after the finish. Light-moderate dryness from roast/hop bitterness, increasing through the glass. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth, moderately creamy/bready/grainy/sticky, and lightly chalky balanced mouthfeel that is good. Zero warming alcohol as expected of 5.8%. Overall this is a good American brown ale. All around good complexity, robustness, and balance of dark/roast/bready malts and light-moderate citrus/earthy hop flavors; very smooth and easy to drink. A little too bitter/drying after the finish; but unique and enjoyable overall.

Bottle from Hannaford Brilliantly clear amber copper color with a thin off white head that quickly dissipates. Caramel and light pitted fruit with just a hint of cocoa on the nose. The flavor is sweet candied caramel and little cocoa. Completely Meh.

12 ounce bottle. Pours a tawny brown color with a small creamy beige head. Nose is toasted malt and faint cocoa. Bittersweet toasted malt flavor upfront. Hints of milk chocolate and citrus. Middle has notes of toasted brown bread and citrus hops. Lingering bitter finish.

Bottle: Clear, dark, wet copper with a good beige head. Caramel, light chocolate aroma. Taste is a bit tinny....chocolate and caramel malts. Thin and stale feeling......no personality.
