Shorter stubby bottle. Pour is darker brown. Smell is odd oily hop nose. Taste is weird dirty oily hops with lots of astringent bitterness, way over the top, way to much personality. I'm used to spiced beers but if this brew has any spice in there, it is forced into the background by the rude ass hops. Quite difficult and almost medicinal in its feel Nasty nellie with an industrial kick. Whew. Not impressed.

Marigold, maraschino cherries, rosehips nose. Cloudy rust, medium tan head, good lace. Marigold, orange peel, rosehips. Full body, soft carbonation. Intriguingly complex and complimentary hop bill. The best beer I've had from this brewery. This is really good.

12 ounce bottle into tulip glass, bottled on 11/14/2016. Pours slightly hazy/cloudy deep reddish copper color with a 2 finger fairly dense and fluffy light khaki head with great retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lasts. Dense soapy lacing clings around the glass. Fantastic appearance. Aromas of big tangerine, pineapple, peach, apricot, mango, melon, passion fruit, papaya, grapefruit, light pine, caramel, brown sugar, toffee, toasted biscuit, and floral/grassy earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of citrus/tropical hops and moderate dark/bready malt sweetness; with great strength. Taste of big tangerine, pineapple, peach, apricot, mango, melon, passion fruit, papaya, grapefruit, light pine, caramel, brown sugar, toffee, toasted biscuit, light nuttiness/roast, and floral/grassy earthiness. Light pine/grassy bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of tangerine, pineapple, peach, apricot, mango, melon, passion fruit, papaya, grapefruit, light pine, caramel, brown sugar, toffee, toasted biscuit, light nuttiness/roast, and floral/grassy earthiness on the finish for a while. Great complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/tropical hops and moderate dark/bready malt sweetness; with a great malt/bitterness balance, and zero cloying sweetness after the finish. Slight dryness from lingering bitterness, lightly increasing through the glass. Medium carbonation and medium-plus body; with a very smooth, moderately creamy/bready, fairly sticky, and slightly slick balanced mouthfeel that is nice. Zero warming alcohol for 7.3%. Overall this is an awesome hoppy amber ale! All around great complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/tropical hops and moderate dark/bready malt sweetness; very smooth and easy to drink with the balanced bitterness. The hops feel really juicy from the hefty malt presence; but it doesn’t feel overly sweet. A very enjoyable offering.

On draught at The Brewzaa. Clear dark amber color with a medium bone white head that diminishes steadily to an outer ring. Stringy lacing. Aroma of citrus, spice, hops and malt. Medium body with flavors of tropical fruit, floral hops and malt. The finish is moderately bitter with a citrusy hop aftertaste. Above average overall.
