Thank you Willrunforbeer on this special release at Ipswich Brewery. Nice you guys grabbed these! Dark brown color, thin fleeting head. Not sure when this was released but I am not getting much in the way of hops.

Flavor is very nutty and earthy. Good amount of caramel and burnt sugar. Hops do still shows in the finish in the way of earthy and floral. Mouthfeel is medium without becoming syrupy or overly sugary. Interesting brown ale.

Poured from bottle thanks Willrunforbeer light brown with a thin tan head. Aromas of caramel roasty malt grains and some pine notes. Taste follows with a nice finish which hides the abv.

22 ounce bottle into tulip glass, bottled on 11/15/2016. Pours lightly hazy dark reddish brown color with a 2 finger dense and rocky light khaki head with great retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lasts. Nice dense soapy lacing clings on the glass. Fantastic appearance. Aromas of big grapefruit, tangerine, pineapple, peach, passion fruit, mango, lemon/orange peel, citrus rind, light pepper, pine, chocolate, cocoa, caramel, brown sugar, toasted brown bread, light nuttiness/coffee/toffee, and floral/grassy/toasted earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of citrus/tropical/pine hops and moderate dark/roast/bready malt notes; with great strength. Taste of big grapefruit, tangerine, pineapple, peach, passion fruit, mango, lemon/orange peel, citrus rind, light pepper, pine, chocolate, cocoa, caramel, brown sugar, toasted brown bread, light nuttiness/coffee/toffee, and floral/grassy/toasted earthiness. Moderate pine/citrus rind/spicy bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of grapefruit, tangerine, pineapple, peach, passion fruit, mango, lemon/orange rind, pepper, pine, chocolate, cocoa, caramel, brown sugar, toasted brown bread, and floral/grassy/toasted earthiness on the finish for a while. Great complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/tropical/pine hops and moderate dark/roast/bready malt flavors; with nice malt/bitterness balance, and no lingering hop astringency after the finish. Light-moderate dryness from bitterness, increasing through the glass. Medium carbonation and body, with a very smooth, moderately creamy/grainy, sticky/resinous, and slightly chalky balanced mouthfeel that is nice. Zero warming alcohol for 8%. Overall this is an excellent hoppy brown ale. All around great complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/tropical/pine hops and moderate dark/roast/bready malt flavors; very smooth and easy to drink for the ABV. Very bright/juicy hop flavors with nice balancing malt complexity. IPA levels of bitterness and dryness, but not overwhelming. A very enjoyable offering.
