This naturally cloudy “Frühlingsbier” is bottled unfiltered, one of the results being that the beer retains many natural, protein, hops and yeast elements. The fine, natural cloudiness and the flowery-yeast aroma allow the beer-lover to anticipate the richness of taste that this refreshing, very drinkable beer offers, a beer that is also thoroughly distinguished by a pleasantly bitter sensation. From a nutritional-physiological view it must also be emphasized that this beer makes a significant contribution to good health with its vitamin and mineral-rich yeast content. From the beginning of March, beer enthusiasts can enjoy this seasonal Ayinger beer specialty for a brief period.

Bottle courtesy of Jonas, cheers Jonas!, had this at home Attenkirchen, Good Friday 19th April 2019. Pours hazy, lemony gold with a large white head. Sweetish but refreshing a pleasant little bitter bite and nice crispiness, soft maltiness, a hint of citrus. Good, really refreshing and very quaffable.

Review based on the BJCP2015 guidelines (style 7C-pale). Bottle 50 cl - Batch L8051 (BBF 11.18). AROMA: medium-low grainy-malt notes with a low sulphury note. APPEARANCE: pale yellow color and slightly hazy. medium white head with good retention. TASTE: similar to the aroma with a low grainy-malt flavor showing faint oxidation (cardboard). medium-low to low bitterness with an almost dry finish. PALATE: medium-low to low body with medium carbonation. OVERALL: a kellerbier-like beer showing some oxidation notes but still pretty decent since the best before was 11 of 2018. fermentation and hop notes undetectable at this point.

0,5 l bottle. Pours slightly hazy yellow with big dense lasting white head. Aroma of bread, malt, flowery and herbal hop notes, a bit of yeast. Taste is light to medium sweet and medium bitter. Body is on the light side for ABV, texture is slick and carbonation average to lively. Finish is medium long, sweetness of malt along with herbal like bitterness. Decent, but not special, drinkable though.
