Say hello to Enigma, our mysterious Double IPA. Brewed with five different malts, four different hops, and a healthy dose of brown sugar, Enigma is the strongest beer on our list. Surprisingly dry, it’s a high-intensity brew that will puzzle your palate. You'll just have to drink one to understand.

16 ounce can into tulip glass, canned on 10/26/2016. Pours hazy medium orange/amber color with a 1 finger dense off white head with good retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Nice spotty soapy lacing clings on the glass. Aromas of big grapefruit, tangerine, pineapple, peach, mango, lemon/orange peel, citrus rind, light pepper, pine, caramel, brown sugar, lightly toasted bread, herbal, and floral/grassy earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of bright citrus/tropical/pine hops and moderate dark/bready malt notes; with great strength. Taste of big grapefruit, tangerine, pineapple, peach, mango, lemon/orange peel, citrus rind, light pepper, pine, caramel, brown sugar, lightly toasted bread, herbal, and floral/grassy earthiness. Good amount of pine/citrus rind/spicy bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of grapefruit, tangerine, pineapple, peach, mango, lemon/orange rind, pepper, pine, caramel, brown sugar, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness on the finish for a while. Great complexity, robustness, and balance of bright citrus/tropical/pine hops and moderate dark/bready malt flavors; with a nice malt/bitterness balance, and no lingering hop astringency after the finish. Moderate dryness from bitterness, increasing through the glass. Medium carbonation and medium-plus body; with a very smooth, sticky/resinous, fairly creamy, and slightly slick balanced mouthfeel that is great. Minimal warming alcohol for 9%. Overall this is a great DIPA! All around great Great complexity, robustness, and balance of bright citrus/tropical/pine hops and moderate dark/bready malt flavors; very smooth and easy to drink for the big ABV. Very vibrant and pretty juicy on hops; with a nice malt backbone, that is not too sweet. A very enjoyable offering.

Draft. Hazy amber/orange body with a frothy white head. Aroma of grapefruit, citrus, pine, resin. The flavor is moderately sweet and lightly to moderately bitter. It finishes lightly sweet and moderately to heavily bitter. Medium body, watery/sticky texture, moderate carbonation. Lots of alcohol and lots of bitterness after an overly sweet start. Resin and pine taste.
