John Chapman was an American pioneer that was credited with bringing apple trees to the Midwest in the early 1800s. He was regarded as a kind and generous nurseryman whose apples were often used to make hard cider. Today he is better known as Johnny Appleseed. Chapman’s Blend is made from a variety of American heritage apples including: Winesap, Baldwin, Northern Spy and Jonathan. It is a semi-dry cider with a clean fruit flavor and slight carbonation.

On tap at MBGSF 2013. Pours a clear gold with little carbonation. Apple aroma leaning toward the tart green granny smith end of the spectrum. Nicely tart flavors of red and green apples, and a vinegar acidity without any real sourness. A very well done cider with clean but complex flavors.

On tap at Bangers & Lace. Pours a light gold with no head what so ever. Aroma has a nice rich apple note that is slightly tart yet sweet. Flavor has a ripe apple flavor with sweetness up front and and a bit of tartness in the finish.
