Bottle. Pours a clear amber with a white head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma has a good amount of rum with spice, sugar and some sweet apples supporting. Flavor a strong rum and sweet apple note with a decent amount of spice underlying.

32 ounce crowler into tulip glass, canned on 10/29/2016. Pours hazy reddish orange/copper color with a 1 finger fairly dense light khaki head with good retention, that reduces to a thin lace cap that lingers. Light spotty lacing clings on the glass. Aromas of big lightly tart apples, caramel, brown sugar, toffee, vanilla, rum, oak, cinnamon, nutmeg, clove, pie crust, toasted biscuit, cream, and oak/toasted earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of dark/bready malt, cider/spices, and rum barrel notes; with great strength. Touch of booze in the aromas as it warms. Flavors of huge lightly tart apples, caramel, brown sugar, toffee, vanilla, rum, oak, cinnamon, nutmeg, clove, pie crust, toasted biscuit, cream, and oak/toasted earthiness. Light herbal bitterness and rum/oak spiciness on the finish; with lingering notes of apples, caramel, brown sugar, toffee, vanilla, rum, oak, cinnamon, nutmeg, clove, pie crust, toasted biscuit, cream, and oak/toasted earthiness on the finish for a while. Incredible complexity, robustness, and balance of dark/bready malt, cider/spices, and rum barrel flavors; with a great malt/bitter/spiciness balance, and zero cloying sweetness after the finish. Light dryness from bitter/oak spiciness as well. Light-medium carbonation and medium-full body; with a very smooth, creamy, fairly slick/silky, and lightly sticky balanced mouthfeel that is awesome. Alcohol is well hidden with a small warmth lingering after the finish; and minimal barrel booziness. Overall this is an amazing rum barrel aged fruit/spiced beer! All around fantastic complexity, robustness, and balance of dark/bready malt, cider/spices, and rum barrel flavors; very smooth and dangerously easy to sip on for the big ABV. An extremely delicious offering.
