Crisp, session West Coast IPA with lactose added. Initial malty sweetness gives way to bitter pine hop flavor and a creamy mouthfeel.

Clear yellow-gold color with a medium thick white head that dissipates gradually to an outer ring. Stringy lace. Fruity aroma with hop and malt notes. Light-bodied with flavors of citrus, floral hop and malt. The finish is mildly bitter with a short fruity hop aftertaste. Slightly above average overall.

Keg at the brewery. Clear golden, large creamy white head, good retention. Aroma of piney, floral hop, lactose. In this context the lactose is reminiscent of spoiled milk. Taste is lime, grapefruit, lactose. A little odd.

Bottle. Pours a very light straw color with a massive head and aromas of skunky hops with a little \"macro-swill\" malt character. Flavor shows more citrus than skunk but an odd flavor too... kind of smoky and soapy. Itβs distracting but Iβm trying to muddle through. The beer is light and refreshing and all and the smoky flavor seems to disappear as it warms a bit.

12 ounce bottle into pint glass, bottled on 4/6/2016. Pours fairly hazy/cloudy golden straw color with a 2 finger dense and rocky white head with great retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lasts. nice dense soapy lacing clings on the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation retaning the head. Fantastic appearance. Aromas of pineapple, passion fruit, peach, mango, melon, grapefruit, lemon zest, orange peel, light pine, light honey/bread, and floral/grassy earthiness. Nice and pleasant aromas with good balance and complexity of citrus/tropical hops and light pale malt notes; with solid strength. Taste of pineapple, passion fruit, peach, mango, melon, grapefruit, lemon zest, orange peel, pine, light honey, bread, and floral/grassy earthiness. Moderate amount of pine/citrus rind bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of pineapple, passion fruit, peach, mango, melon, grapefruit, lemon/orange rind, pine, and floral/grassy earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Very nice complexity, robustness, and balance of of citrus/tropical/pine hops and light pale malt flavors; with a nice malt/bitterness balance, and no lingering hop astringency after the finish. Moderate dryness from bitterness, that increases through the glass. Medium carbonation and light-medium body; with a very smooth, crisp, moderately sticky/resinous, and lightly creamy/bready mouthfeel that is nice. No alcohol warmth as expected of 5%. Overall this is a very good session IPA. All around good complexity, robustness, and balance of of citrus/tropical/pine hops and light pale malt flavors; and very smooth, crisp, and easy to drink. A very enjoyable offering.
