Bottle. Kinda ugly pour... a dingy medium brown/dirty gold with a sudsy head. Aromas make me go \"ooh...\" thought as they have a bit of soapiness with a very nice passionfruit edge to them. Flavor doesn’t deliver, though... bitterness is just a hops wash of bitter that blankets a chewy malt presence that is halfway between caramel and toffee. There is just the slightest hint of tropical fruit at the very leading edge of the palate, but then things give way to malt and nondescript bitterness. So much promise on the nose, though.

12 ounce bottle into tulip glass; no bottle dating, but is a recent release. Pours hazy orange/amber color with a 2 finger dense and rocky off white head with good retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lingers. Nice dense soapy lacing clings around the glass, with a moderate amount of streaming carbonation retaining the head. Aromas of big grapefruit, tangerine, pineapple, peach, mango, melon, lemon zest, orange peel, pine, caramel, toasted bread, and floral/grassy earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of juicy citrus/tropical hops and moderate dark/bready malt notes; with great strength. Taste of big grapefruit, tangerine, pineapple, peach, mango, melon, lemon zest, orange peel, pine, caramel, toasted bread, and floral/grassy earthiness. Moderate amount of pine/citrus rind bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of grapefruit, tangerine, pineapple, peach, mango, melon, lemon/orange rind, pine, caramel, toasted bread, and floral/grassy earthiness on the finish for a while. Damn nice complexity, robustness, and balance of juicy citrus/tropical/pine hops and moderate dark/bready malt flavors; with a great malt/bitterness balance; minimal lingering hop astringency, building up through the glass. Moderate dryness from bitterness, that increases through the glass. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth, sticky/resinous, and fairly creamy/bready balanced mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is very well hidden with minimal warming present after the finish. Overall this is a great DIPA. All around great complexity, robustness, and balance of juicy citrus/tropical/pine hops and moderate dark/bready malt flavors; and very smooth and easy to drink. A very enjoyable offering.
