Sampled from the tap at Gravity. Pours near black with a tan head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma has a chalky chocolate note with a bit of pomegranate and a hint of dark grains. Flavor combines earthy dark grains and chalky chocolate with a hint pomegranate.

22 ounce bottle into snifter; not bottle dating, but is a recent release. Pours nearly opaque dark brown/black color with a 1-2 finger dense tan head with good retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Light spotty soapy lacing clings around the glass. Aromas of big milk chocolate cake, cocoa, caramel, toffee, fudge, pomegranate, dark bread, light coffee/smoke, and roast/toasted earthiness. Very nice aromas with good balance and complexity of dark/roast/bready malt and light-moderate pomegranate fruit notes; with great strength. Taste of big milk chocolate cake, cocoa, caramel, toffee, fudge, pomegranate, dark bread, light coffee/smoke, and roast/toasted earthiness. Light roasted bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of milk chocolate cake, cocoa, caramel, toffee, fudge, pomegranate, dark bread, light coffee/smoke, and roast/toasted earthiness on the finish for a while. Very nice complexity, robustness, and balance of dark/roast/bready malt and light-moderate pomegranate fruit flavors; with a good roasted bitter/sweet balance and zero cloying sweetness after the finish. Slight roasted dryness as well. Light carbonation and medium-full body; with a very smooth, moderately creamy/silky, and slightly chalky balanced mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is very well hidden with minimal warming present after the finish. overall this is a very nice fruited imperial sweet stout! All around good complexity, robustness, and balance of dark/roast/bready malt and light-moderate pomegranate fruit flavors; and very smooth and easy to drink for the ABV. A touch thin on body for the ABV, but still has a very nice mouthfeel; and is very enjoyable all around.
