Rich caramel and lightly bronze coloured body with quite a thick, three to four centimetre tall off-white head. Deep aromas of pungent grassy and herbal hops with a touch of citrus and light fruits noticeable. Medium to Full-bodied; Deep pungent malts with a good deal of alcohol noticeable at first that hits hard but also shows some nice citrus and quite pungent piney and resinous hops soon afterwards. Aftertaste is nice with some sweetness, a little alcohol, a great balance of malt and hops but the overwhelming finish are the higher alpha acid, citrusey, resinous and grassy hops. Overall, a very nice Imperial IPA with a good citrus and fruity finish showing some light sugars, but a proper balance and good complexity for the style make this a good beer, but nothing amazing or worth spending an arm and leg for, which is what I almost did for this one! I sampled this 65 cL bottle purchased from Merchant's in Dearborn, Michigan on 01-July-2015 for US$10,29 (quite expensive for the size and the state) sampled at home in Manassas, Virginia on Thanksgiving in 2015 on 26-November-2015.

Bottle from mikem409, Thanks Bottled 5/13/15 so not expecting much from this double IPA Quite a hazy deep golden color with a huge bubbly off white head that persists forever. Lots of bready caramel and bits of citrus pine and juicy fruity tropical fruits on the nose. Bitter pithy citrus flavor is a bit overwhelming. Some bready sweet caramel malt flavor barely balances the harsh bitterness. Light alcohol notes and a lingering bitter finish. A bit harsh but not horrible.

22 ounce bottle into tulip glass, bottled on 5/13/2015. Pours slightly hazy deep orange/copper color with a 2 finger dense off white head with good retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lingers. Nice spotty soapy lacing clings around the glass. Aromas of big tangerine, pineapple, strawberry, mango, melon, passion fruit, peach, lemon zest, orange peel, pine, caramel, brown sugar, toasted bread, and floral/grassy earthiness. Fantastic aromas with great complexity and balance of juicy citrus/tropical hops and moderate malt notes; with great strength. Taste of big tangerine, pineapple, strawberry, mango, melon, passion fruit, peach, lemon zest, orange peel, pine, caramel, brown sugar, toasted bread, and floral/grassy earthiness. Good amount of pine/citrus rind bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of tangerine, pineapple, strawberry, mango, melon, passion fruit, lemon/orange peel, pine, caramel, brown sugar, toasted bread, and floral/grassy earthiness on the finish for a while. Fantastic complexity, robustness, and balance of juicy citrus/tropical hops and moderate malt flavors; with a great bitterness/sweetness balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Medium carbonation and medium-full bodied; with a very smooth, moderately sticky, and fairly creamy mouthfeel that is great. Alcohol is very well hidden with only a light warmth lingering after the finish. Overall this is an incredible DIPA style. All around fantastic complexity, robustness, and balance of juicy citrus/tropical hops and moderate malt flavors; and very smooth to sip on for the big ABV. A highly enjoyable offering.
