Growler from Albertsons. Honey sweetness, as expected, dominates aroma and taste. Orange copper body with airy head. Straight forward Mead, hints of rye on the back end. Leinie’s rises again....

12 ounce bottle into tulip glass, best before 10/12/2015. Pours fairly crystal clear golden yellow color with a 1-2 finger fairly dense white head with good retention, that reduces to a spotty cap that lingers. Light spotty lacing clings on the glass, with a moderate amount of streaming carbonation retaining the cap. Aromas of pear, apple, white grape, berry, honey, cracker, toasted bread, herbal, light pepper, and yeast earthiness. Nice aromas with good balance of honey, bready malt, and fruity yeast notes; with good strength. A bit too phenolic/boozy in the nose, but not too bad. Taste of pear, apple, white grape, berry, honey, cracker, toasted bread, herbal, light pepper, and yeast earthiness. Light herbal/spicy bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of pear, apple, grape, berry, honey, cracker, toasted bread, herbal, light pepper, and yeast earthiness on the finish for a short bit. Very nice balance and robustness of honey, bready malt, and fruity yeast notes; with a good malt/bitterness balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. A fair amount of dryness is present as well. Medium-high carbonation and medium bodied; with a very smooth and crisp mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is very well hidden with only a slight warmth lingering after the finish. Overall this is a very good Braggot style. All around good balance and robustness of honey, bready malt, and fruity yeast flavors; and very smooth and crisp to sip on for the big ABV. A nicely enjoyable offering, but could have used a bit more complexity overall in flavors.
