12 ounce bottle into lager glass, best before 1/21/2015. Pours slightly hazy orange/amber color with a 2 finger dense and rocky off white head with fantastic retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lasts. Nice soapy lacing clings down the glass, with a good amount of streaming carbonation retaining the head. Fantastic appearance. Aromas of grapefruit, tangerine, lemon zest, orange peel, pine, light caramel, toasted bread, and floral/grassy earthiness. Nice and pleasant aromas with good balance and complexity of citrus/pine hops and moderate bready malt notes; with solid strength. Taste of grapefruit, tangerine, lemon zest, orange peel, citrus rind, pine, light caramel, toasted bread, and floral/grassy earthiness. Fair amount of pine/citrus rind bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of grapefruit, tangerine, lemon/orange zest, citrus rind, pine, light caramel, toasted bread, and floral/grassy earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Very nice balance, complexity, and robustness of citrus/pine hops and moderate bready malt flavors; with a great malt/bitterness balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Very clean on lager flavors with zero yeast esters present. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth, crisp, and fairly sticky mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is very well hidden with minimal warming present after the finish. Overall this is a very good IPL style. All around good robustness, complexity, and balance of citrus/pine hops and moderate bready malt flavors; and very smooth and crisp to drink. A nicely enjoyable offering.

Bottle from Legacy Liquor, Vancouver
Hazy amber color with small head. Light caramel aroma, a bit husky. Simple flavor, but with lean and drinkable caramel profile, with very light residual sweetness; correct hopping, not much hop qualities.
Easy beer.

Bottle @ Greg’s dump, pregaming Trailhead Tuesday. Pours an amber, clear appearance with an off white head. Sweet biscuity, bready, caramel aroma with grapefruit and tangerine. Decent body. A bit of butterscotch. Caramel. Pretty high bitterness. Not very good.

Dark golden body with small rocky head, but lots of chunky lacing. Aroma is pure malt, more malt in the taste with a touch of some sharp hops. some lingering bitter finish.

22oz Bottle, clear deep orange, with a full soapy white head. Papery bitter resiny hop aroma. Bitter resin hop flavors, Quite dry and quick pallate. Lacking character and body. Another "Macro-Micro" IPA

12 oz bottle. Aroma consists of cannabis, old rotten caramel malt (this isn’t expired, but it smells like it), butter, garbage. Pours clear copper with a long-sustaining off-white head with great retention, leaving lace. Taste is similar to a poorly made IPA, but a little bit off of even that. My first impression was of a beer in the low 3s, then it seemed to get worse, resulting in me giving it a 2.1 in score. It seemed to bounce back a little after it sat, surprisingly. This is still not good, however. I know Pyramid is capable of making good beer, but more often than not their output is very mediocre. Rarely are they this bad, though.

Reviewed from notes.
The appearance had a hazy golden colored body with a one fingered white foamy head that dies within about a minute, light lacing tries to cling but slides for the most part.
The smell was maltier than most Double IPL’s I’ve had. I was looking forward to some peppery and/or spiciness I usually get from most Double IPL’s but as much as I nursed this, I just didn’t get it.
The taste was a malty forward Double IPL with a malty aftertaste and quick dry finish.
On the palate, it sat about a light to medium on the body; decent sessionability, carbonation seems fine for the style and there’s nothing off to me.
Overall, decent DIPL, nothing spectacular, but fair enough to come back to.

On tap at Oakland airport
Clear light amber with a small off-white head, light lacing. Wow, one whiff and it’s a butter bomb with some citrus. Flavors of buttered popcorn, caramel, citrus with a mild bitterness
Decent, especially if you like lots of butter on your popcorn.

Tap at 2014 Capitol Beer Fest. Pours amber with a beige head. Flavor is rather "amber" with enough hop to balance.
