Can: Slightly hazy, amber-orange with a short, yellowed head. Aroma is sweet toffee, grain malt. Taste is a mildly spicy, breadheel and toffee malt. Sweet, with a slightly stale, earthy/herbal bitter. Ok, but a dry breadiness gets old quickly.

12 ounce can into dimpled mug, no canning date. Pours lightly hazy/cloudy orange/copper color with a 1 finger dense off white head with good retention, that reduces to a thin cap that lingers. Light spotty lacing clings on the glass. Aromas of caramel, toast, toffee, biscuit, light nuttiness, herbal, floral, and yeast earthiness. Nice aromas with good complexity and solid balance of dark/bready malt and earthy hop notes; with good strength. A fair bit of yeast fruitiness, but it isn’t overpowering. Taste of caramel, toast, toffee, biscuit, light nuttiness, herbal, floral, and yeast earthiness. Slight earthy bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of caramel, toffee, toast, biscuit, light nuttiness, and herbal/yeast earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Nice robustness and complexity of dark/bready malt and earthy hop flavors; with a good malt/bitterness balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Medium carbonation and body; with a smooth, fairly crisp, and lightly creamy/bready mouthfeel that is good. Alcohol is well hidden with minimal warming present after the finish. Overall this is a nice oktoberfest style. All around good robustness, balance, and complexity of dark/bready malt and earthy hop flavors; and very smooth to drink. A nicely enjoyable offering.

A bit too subdued in character for my preference +++ Sampled on draft at the brewpub this beer poured a dark orange-caramel color with a trace orange-white head that faded quickly and left no lacing. The aroma was tangy with faint vague fruit and caramel. The flavor was tangy and a touch nutty with faint vague fruits and touches of caramel and cardboard. Short tangy fruity finish. medium body but noticeably smooth. Disappointing.

On tap at the rivertowne monroville. Looks like pale lager with a tad of brown in there. I think I smell hints of mint in there but not sure. First taste is mildy bitter but then the bite increases. Seems to be higher in alky but is not ill mannered. Medium to mild linger but easy to take for an octoberfest. One of the more mild tastwise that I have had.
