Bottle shared thanks to sjogro. Very dark brown with small tan head. Quite some coffee, roasted malts, marshmallow, soft chili, earthy roasted malts, dead leaves, soft licorice, dry blackberries, bourbon, raw cocoa. Over medium sweet, quite bitter, light tart. Full bodied with soft chili heat. Nice.

330ml bottle, purchased January 2018. Pours black with a tan head. Aroma of bourbon, blackcurrant, chocolate, coffee. The taste is rich, sweet, bourbon, chocolate, vanilla, blackcurrant, there's a definite chilli hit too, not overwhelming and not that hot, which is good as it complements the other flavours. Full bodied, creamy mouthfeel. An extravagant beer. Lovely stuff.

(Draught at Billie's Bier Kafétaria, Antwerpen, 18 Oct 2018) Black colour with frothy, beige head. Malty, roasted nose with notes of coffee, dark chocolate, a touch of smoke, chilli, vanilla and black-currant. Malty, roasted taste with coffee, dark chocolate, dried fruit, black-currant, some smoke, chipotle, vanilla, bourbon and a balanced roasty bitterness in the finish. Full body, quite sweet. Bold, rich and powerful. Really impressive. (8/8/8/10/8=8.3) Rerate: (Bottle, 12 July 2026) Brownish black colour with brief, foamy, beige head. Malty, roasty nose with dark bread, coffee, oak wood, bourbon, black-currant, cacao, vanilla, tobacco and black pepper. Malty, roasty taste with notes of coffee, cacao, oak wood, bourbon, dark berries, black-currant, vanilla, tobacco and a warming finish with a gentle cacao bitterness and a slight chilli heat. Almost full body, quite sweet. Complex stuff, with coffee, cacao, bourbon, chilli and alcohol. Still, good balance. Great beer!

Bottle at home from Malt Attacks, 4th May 19. Pours black. Aroma is chocolate, coffee, caramel. Taste is smooth and integrated, coffee, milk chocolate, slight bourbon, sweet, not overly, no sign of any chilli, maybe some sweetness from the blackberries. Very good

Bottle. Pours inky thick black small dark brown head, good lacing. Aroma is ashy, hints of smoke, molasses, anise, more molasses. Flavor is medium sweet, fully bitter, ashy and huge amounts of molasses. Honesty not getting any bourbon. Full body, low carbonation. Not my thing. Do not notice any chili influence.
